Greatly disappointed! Walked in at little before 6:00, no one at hostess stand....waited, then went into bar to ask if side tables could be used with a minor in our group and was told no. Went back to waiting....stopped a server and asked for seating, then finally hostess popped out of kitchen area and Sat us in the farthest part,... More

A Hotel is not really a Hotel unless they have a full service restaurant. The Valley River Inn has such a restaurant. The views are excellent of the river and the restaurant is very well appointed. There are many other Eugene branded chain motels that pretend to be a Hotel. That being said, the restaurant doesn't offer compelling fare and... More

We have eaten at Sweetwaters twice recently - once for lunch, then again for their Thanksgiving buffet. On the plus side, the location is nice/easy access - right next to the Valley River Mall (easy walk) - most seats have a nice view of the Willamette River (we had nice seats/view both times), and the servers and service was great... My husband and I had the special Thanksgiving Day Buffet dinner at Sweetwaters today. The best part of the experience we're our wait staff, Tessa and Emily. They were cheerful, helpful and efficient near the end of what must have been a very busy day. I have eaten at Sweetwaters many times over the years, mostly lunch with an occasional... More

I quit going to Sweetwaters a year ago after repeated poor service with an attitude and horrible food. Friend wanted to try the Thanksgiving buffet so I agreed. Arrived- advised friend had checked in but didn't know where she had been seated. The view is stunning overlooking the river. The decor is incredible. We repeatedly asked for water. No drink... We just had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner at Sweetwaters and our servers Emily and Tessa were outstanding. We would definitely come back again.

Nice variety of food, typical of what you would find on most buffets. Resturant looks out on the river, staff was friendly

Had an early afternoon lunch. Place seemed oddly quiet. Soon would be vacuuming the carpet and was directed to sit at a small table in the bar area. We asked to be seated in the restaurant area and the server begrudgingly obliged. Wine was inexpensive and delicious as were the sandwiches. Server was attentive. Large portions. Enjoyed our meal. A... More

Dear RFA2249, Thank you for your review. I'm glad to heard that you enjoyed your meal, even though the welcome wasn't as warm as it could have been. We will work on that. We change our menus every season, as Chef Ray is always looking to add tasty, new, seasonal offerings, so when you come in next time, maybe get... More

While researching this, we found 2 restaurants with a view of the flowing river, Sweetwaters and McWinaminis North Bank. We were staying at The Valley River Inn, and this is located on the same property. Good Choice ! We had an early dinner with a bottle of Pinot Noir, Risotto Balls, and Grilled Salmon Salad. Our table was right in... More

I use average, because TripAdvisor does not provide a "good" category, and Sweet Waters does not fit the very good rating. My wife had the ravioli. It was excellent, tasty and plenty ample. The accompanying asparagus was fresh and tasty. My prom chop was large, but not as tender as I would have thought. It was flavorful. The Caesar salad... More

Thank you for your review, Dick. Reviews like yours help us to get better every day. The wild mushroom ravioli with the smoked red pepper sauce and local goat cheese is definitely my favorite entree, and it's vegetarian as well. We are in the process of changing our menus. While it is a bit chilly outside, anyone who'd like to... More
