We went for Portland dining month. Service was terrible. They didn't seem to be interested in creating a positive experience for their customers. Food was alright, average at best but not worth it. Portions were ridiculously small. We were there for two hours. It took about 30 minutes before we got the first course. It then took 1 hour before... More

We came for Portland Dining month. To our delight, the items in the prix fixe menu were actual menu items. We got the goose-mushroom app and the hamachi tartare before the set menu. The goose-mushroom was a knock-out, and the hamachi tartare was solid. For the menu, the clams had a beautiful presentation, but had a taste that was not... More

Our best Portland Dining Month experience yet! To the delight of my wife and myself, Aviary changed its 3-course menu from the one originally published. We chose the Manilla Clams as first course -- really interesting, tasty, beautifully presented -- and then the leg of lamb for our main course. Two small cylinders of leg and a square piece of... The snotty attitude of the waitstaff is usually bearable because we enjoy the food (even bringing out of towners in for special occasions). We've recently moved away but Aviary WAS one of the places we liked to hit when we came to Portland to visit. We came in for happy hour tonight and apart from the deviled eggs arriving 25... More

If you enjoy great food and either don't drink alcohol-- or don't mind being ripped off if you do order alcohol-- than this is your place. We Foodies like us get all giddy in March because it's "Portland Dining Month" (3 courses/$29) at some of the city's best restaurants. It's a great way to explore expensive restaurants for a reasonable... More

Went with a friend to Aviary as part of Portland Dining month. Was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the service was good. As part of the Portland Dining month, Aviary offered a three course meal with 2 options for each course for only $29 dollars. Aviary was a real find that I will recommend it to friends.

March is Dining Month in Portland where you get 3-courses for $30 at over 50 restaurants. Aviary has one of the best Dining Month menus in town. Variety of choices for every palate. Chef Sarah Pliner always keeps it fresh and new. Eric is a delight and will not steer you wrong.

The crispy pigs ears with coconut rice, Chinese sausage and avocado was listed as one of Willamette Week's 12 Wonders of Portland. I had never even thought of eating a pig's ear but I was game. The dish, with salad greens, was really good. The apple pie desert was also very good. Great eating experience.

Large open restaurant with bar seating. High ceilings so it might get noisy. I was there early 5p without a reservation. Tables are close together. Service was prompt, friendly and informative. Multiple menus for happy hour, main entrees, drink and a special vegetarian pris fixe offering that looked great. I had the Japanese eggplant which was grilled with tomato miso... More

We went to Aviary on a Monday evening to celebrate our son's birthday. I seldom give a restaurant five stars, but Aviary truly won me over with their delicious food. We had our infant grandchild with us, but we were still greeted warmly and given a nice table in an alcove near the window. The meal started with bread and... More
