This is like going to a little German restaurant on any side street in Germany. Reservations are a must many times. Outstanding strudels and deserts prepared daily which you can also take home. Wienerschnitzel and rahmschnitzel,,,,wonderful!!!

Found this restaurant via Google. We were looking for a German restaurant in this area and this one read well. We didn't have reservations (recommend you get one) but were lucky enough to be early and get seated right away. The waiter recommended the dill pickle soup which sounds kind of funky but is really really good. We all (3... More

We had the wienerschnitzel and bratwurst combo plate. It was very good. We have just returned from a 3 week trip to Germany & Austria and this meal made us feel like we were back in Europe! The bread was fresh and warm. The dill pickle soup was an interesting taste experience. The mustard served with the brat was very... More

Went today with a big group of folks and not one of us had a bad meal. GREAT service, nice, clean and friendly place but small. Food was FABULOUS!! Veggies cooked to perfection, sauces devine and the pork tender, tasty and a perfect serving! Desserts galore and more to take home if you wanted! Price were extremely reasonable. I would... More

Tried Otto and Anita's upon arrival for my first trip to Portland. It is a good small local, very laid back, German restaurant. The schnitzel good. The jaeger sauce could have been a bit thicker, but it was quite tasty. Not great, but quite satisfying at reasonable price.

We've dined at Otto and Anita's several times now and we were completely happy on each occasion. The atmosphere is a bit quirky. I'll call it charming rather than tacky...but it is a close contest. I wish they would remove the horrible fluorescent ceiling light in the lobby, but appearance clearly doesn't matter to these good folks. What does matter... More

Dill pickle soup was something I had never thought of and I love dill pickles and Dr Pepper, fried hamburger dills, etc. Try it! Snitzels were also very good. Was lunch so I didn't explore the beers. Returning very soon with friends. This is one of the rare places we even had desert.

We visited Portland for a week with our family, after reading the reviews, we decided to try Otto & Anita's. Well, the food was so delicious, even the non meat-eaters in our group fell in love with this place. To make a long story short, the food was amazing, they went out of their way to make us comfortable and... More

I got the feeling that I was eating a homemade meal. The food is very good. The employees are very friendly and accommodating. I'm dieting, so they were very willing to accommodate my requests. There was a small child in our group and they served her a hot dog and a very appealing display of fruit. They even gave her... More

We've eaten several times at Otto & Anita's in the Multnomah Village neighborhood. Their salads are fresh and delicious, and I love their chicken entrees accompanied by fresh carrots, green vegs, and roasted potatoes -- all with a wonderful light sauce. Anita's desserts are outstanding and you can also buy some to take home. Service is very friendly!
