Last week we were walking away from a horrible restaurant experience…fuming about what happened as we walked angry down the street both thirsty and hungry. Drawn by the beautiful architecture of the building we stood in awe looking at the structure and reading the historic plaque. Out of no where a very kind and attractive man came out of the... More

Our meal was delicious and I hope to give this restaurant a second chance. However, we visited on a slow Sunday night. More than half of the tables were empty, but we were pressured to the point of rudeness to sit in the lounge or at the bar. The hostess questioned whether we really wanted a table and whether we... Went upstairs for happy hour on a Friday afternoon, arriving at 4:15 or so. Tried to find a good seat that didn't have a speaker blaring 70's retro music down on us, but didn't luck out. When I asked our server if they could turn it down, she said, "Yes", but the music didn't really soften anytime soon. The first... More

We went with our daughter to celebrate a special occasion. The atmosphere was quite nice, service was friendly and accommodating, and the food was very well prepared. Overall, though, we found the evening quite expensive. $8 salads and expensive drinks on top of $30-40 entrees and tips and the 4 of us racked up a $300+ night pretty quickly. I'd... More

Great food with always a new/different twist. Always a delightful experience. Creativity abounds in both the kitchen and the bar: the best Irish Coffee in town, the Full Bloody Irish is quite possibly the most intiguing twist to a Bloody Mary you would ever have & the Black Heart Flip is the most amazing drink. Did I mention the food's... More

I got the "Under a London fog" salad and the swede fondant, a colorful and whimsical entree that tasted just as good as it looked. My cocktail was also delicious. The service was great, and the historic setting of the carriage house was warm and unique.

Not only was the food delicious and the service excellent, the building itself is worth seeing as a bit of interesting Portland history. The old William Ladd horse stable and carriage house dating back to 1883 has been meticulously restored to its present grandeur. For history buffs, this would make a fun outing when combined with a visit to the... More

We stopped in for drinks and spent the next hour with the most engaging bartender. He was clearly passionate about his job and we ended up touring the historic restaurant after he made us the most delicious cocktails. We heard about how the city of Portland came to be along with some fun ghost stories. We were disappointed not to... More

Some life experiences float free of time carrying love, joy, celebration and healing… as did our evening last night at Raven and Rose. Chef Daniel Mondok’s symphony of flavors along with his delicate grace in plating reminds us that beauty in life is everywhere. My husband Stephen and I have been radiant fans of Daniel’s following his cuisine all over... More
