So glad we came here. Byways is like a time machine taking you back to a 1950's diner and the formica counter with stools, booths, and lots of kitschy souvenirs all over the place. They have items from all over the country, including many license...More

We got here around 10:00 on a Sunday morning and there was a long line. It moved fast and we got a table for two. The blue corn pancakes with blueberries added (our request) were AWSOME. The Sappho scramble was good as well but not...More

It was a bit running, but still think it was 5 stars. I was feeling like something healthy so I got fruit instead of potatoes, which were good despite being out of season. Crowded for mid-week, but I got a table fairly quickly. I got...More

Came here for breakfast. Had to meet clients at their new place on the other side of the Pearl District. So this was a good choice for me. I had the breakfast tacos. And what a set of tacos it was. Four tacos with LOTS...More

When I first walked into this restaurant, I noticed how friendly the servers were. They obviously enjoy what they do for a living, and are always glad to serve their customers. Byways Café is a traditional Portland "hipster-like" place (stereotypical, but it had somewhat of...More

Had brunch with a friend here. I had a breakfast sandwich and it was great. We both really enjoyed what we had. The waitresses were great and really accommodating to anything that we needed.

So Jill is right -- no reservations. But it's a place with great food and large servings of local food. You won't be rushed and you can enjoy nice cocktails with your breakfast. So a good brunchy atmosphere.
