Denny's-style restaurant... not very good service... seems disorganized when we went there. The food was okay but nothing special.

It's definitely impossible to leave black bear hungry because they load the plates full. Always good food, best time to go is in the morning, I feel like that's when everything is freshest. Amazing chicken fried steak. Black Bear is always a solid place for a good meal.

Good food in a "just above a coffee shop " atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and the service was good. Have been in several of these restaurants; Low-key and predictable.

A bear sized meal after working up an appetite hiking in nearby smith rock park. Great big food for big hunger... never seen biscuits this big before!!! Great for any meal, lots of options and reasonable priced meals, great service and clean diner and restrooms!

This is about the 10th balck Bear Diner that have ate at. This is a very good chain and you always get plenty to eat. Go for it.

My favorite place for breakfast. I've had their giant burger and Tri-Tip on a French roll. Yummy. I've tried several other items and love their shakes and pies. The only drawback is the management needs to take some management courses. I've met some unhappy employees. The Black Bear in Madrass seems a lot better staffed and warmer. But the Redmond... More

We love Black Bear diners and were surprised to find this one empty at dinner time but the service is terrible and I am sure that is why. The waitress took about 15 minutes to come and take our order and after the food came (which was fine) she never came back. We had to go to other tables for... More

Thank you for letting us know Jen. I am sorry to hear that this was your experience at this location. The service you received was completely unacceptable and not a great reflection of the service we are known for. I feel badly that a manager on duty was not informed about the situation so they could have fixed the problem... More

Four of us each had wide range of meals, from breakfast, salad, sandwich & Dinner at one meal. Everything was tasty & filling. Service was good & priced well. We always come back every time we are in the area.
