While visiting a friend in bend Oregon, on our way to the Columbia River Gorge, she mentioned we needed to eat breakfast at Petite Provence. The sweet little French café is tucked away in downtown and we may not have seen it or tried it...if it hadn't come so highly recommended. The pastries were light and delicious. I was a little concerned when we arrived and there were about 6 other tables of people all arriving at the same time we did just as they opened as well as customers coming in for to-go orders. There was one waitress. She did an amazing job and greeted most of the customers by name. You could tell this place was frequented by regulars. Our meal was serve very timely and hot. if youa re in the dalles and looking for a tasty treat, the Petite Provence is the place to go.More

This place has a small French village vibe. A kind of neighborhood bistro. Superb service, thanks to Waitress extraordinaire, Patti. Food was very good and presentation was eye appealing. Everything was spot on.

Over the course of a four day visit to The Dalles, we ate twice at Petite Provence. The first time we did a takeout of various French Croissants and danish, and fresh coffee beverages. All were fresh and delicious. We also got some dessert items...to eat later. The second time we went we enjoyed brunch choices including fresh crepes w fruit. The service was efficient and friendly, and all health precautions were taken including isolating our table from other tables and with a plastic screen from the entry, so that we felt safe eating indoors. I recommend this excellent French bakery, which is connected to the La Provence bakeries in Portland.More

I travel from Pendleton to Portland every two weeks for cancer treatments. I have been trying a different restaurant in The Dalles and Hood River. I finally went to Petite Province in The Dalles and what a gem!!! I called in my order and the...lovely lady that took my order was gracious and said no problem with curbside delivery. Unlike another The Dalles restaurant named Baldwin Station who gave me a hard time needing curbside😠. The meal I ordered from Petite Province and included a Wild Albacore Tuna meltand salmon chowder. And of course I am now totally addicted to their delicious Macrons. Try this place next time you are hungry for breakfast or lunch!!More

For starters, the croissant was excellent. Buttery, flakey and served steaming hot. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the meal. I ordered a 12 oz. mocha. It arrived in a nice sized cup that was barely over half full and...just warm-not hot. Lots of foam on top made the cup appear fuller than it was. I could almost taste the chocolate-more so when I got near the bottom of the cup. The crepes were light and airy and the berries/whipped cream/berry sauce were delightful but, again, just warm. It was baffling that the croissant was the hottest item served. Contrary to another review, it was not quiet at all. Decor is cute even with a burnt out lightbulb in one fixture and another long multi-light fixture not even turned on. We plan to explore all of their locations so will see if this is the norm or an exception.More

When I find myself in The Dalles, and I want a chance to visit with friends, I suggest we meet at Petite Provence for brunch. The food is terrific, very fresh, and the restaurant is nice and quiet so you can visit peacefully! I've been...many times and always had amazing service from their waitstaff! One bite of their Croissants and you are transported to Paris! I have enjoyed various dishes, but my favorite is Eggs Provencal as the eggs are served with butternut squash or potatoes (I prefer squash - yum!). They have espresso and lattes as well. Hearty meals served with a smile!More
