Went to a music fest in the Dalles over the weekend and stopped here beforehand. Lots of good beers on tap and very modestly priced. Friendly and attentive service. Hung out on the back deck and you could hear the music at the fest in...the nearby park. Only down side was limited vegetarian and vegan fair. Not too hard to keep a couple Beyond Burgers on hand, hence only four stars.More

Used reviews in TripAdvisor to find this restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant was operating on a very limited menu due to recent issues with the air conditioning in the kitchen. Our salad and salmon were very good, but would have tried something else on the excellent...menu if they were available. The staff was excellent. The venue was interesting just wish they were fully up and running. Menu prices were high based on portion sizes.More

Since the restaurant just reopened with a new chef and owners, I planned to see a couple of bumps at first. I was thrilled to have fabulous food and service both times I have been there. The Gravlax is amazing and happy to say the...French Onion Soup is fabulous! I also have had the mussels, which I can’t stop dreaming about and also the seared scallops were wonderful. The Halibut special was perfect. It nice to have some specialty cocktails with very unique ingredients at a very reasonable price compared to most restaurants that serve these types of cocktails. Can’t wait to go back for the Bouillabaisse 👍More

The atmosphere hasn't changed at the Baldwin for at least fifteen years and its fine, nice old bar, risqué paintings as a reminder of one if its former 'lives'. Precovid The Baldwin offered good food and drinks at a reasonable price, the menu didn't change...much but had variety. Postcovid May 21, 2021: It was an ominous start when we arrived at our expected reservation time to learn that they had used the wrong time. We sat at the bar for a half hour drinking a watered down drink (the bartender was more of a chemist than a bartender -measuring each ingredient to the last mm). We finally were seated and luckily had brought a couple of drinks with us as service was so slow the waitperson suggested we order another round of drinks. The martini that I had brought with me had an olive with a pit which I had never experienced before - maybe a Baldwin original? Diner finally arrived, mussels were excellent but the Ahi Tuna dish was medallions of Tuna on noodles that gives al-dente a new meaning, more like Chinese fried noodles covered by a red sauce of some kind with tiny tomatoes which were the only ingredient that was warm. The drinks ordered to stave off hunger before dinner finally arrived after dinner sans alcohol. It will be awhile before we return.More

We're so sorry you didn't have a good experience. Looking back to May 21st, it was at the time our busiest day and I don't think we were fully prepared for the rush. Having only been open for 4-5 days prior, newly hired staff were...More

Lives up to it's reviews of great food. Loved the fish and chips and salmon and shrimp pasta. Great service by Harley! Finished it off with best coconut cream pie I have ever had. Sad to hear it is closing will be a loss to...those that eat there regularly.More

The food here is amazing, the wine list to die for, and the service is fantastic. Coming from Seattle, we were not sure that we would find gourmet food in The Dalles. Baldwin’s, though, did not disappoint. So much so that we ate here all...three nights we stayed! Our server Harley had impeccable timing and solid suggestions for the menu (I highly recommend both the peanut butter pie and the triple chocolate for dessert!). Stuffed mushrooms, fried calamari, crab cakes, Caesar salad, halibut, oysters, all were perfectly prepared and so tasty! It was our first venture into a restaurant since COVID, and we were very pleased with our outdoor dining experience. I cannot recommend it enough!More

Our hotel recommended Baldwin's and it was the BEST find!! First the building is old and has an awesome history. We were there during the covid pandemic and we were able to sit outside and were very comfortable. Everything looked so delicious on the menu...it was a tough decision but the food was INCREDIBLE! Harley was our server and he was top notch! He had great recommendations and was very friendly. We had 4 kids with us, all under 10 and this place was great for them as well!More

Not sure. Was only there for the atmosphere and a couple of drinks that day.
