I have been patronizing this place since 1980. Then they had bands every weekend, now it's a nice place for lunch or dinner, they also accommodate large groups, our high school class has a luncheon here occasionally. Food and service is always good, never have been disappointed.

This informal local restaurant makes everyone feel comfortable immediately. On a Saturday night, it was lively but it's big so I got a seat right away. The veggie wrap was big potion and tasty. The onion rings were crispy and good. Total tab $14.

al's menu was 5-6 pages long with a variety of options hogies, wraps, salads, burgers, pizza, seafood, apps and deserts. I went with the servers recommendation -Italian calzone. Wow I could only finish half of it. Best calzone I've eaten. Rustic atmosphere with stuffed animals all over the walls.

Well run privately owned and operated with great pride. Ambience is great, service always friendly and not last excellent food. Community service of this place makes one proud to have a fine place like that in our midst.

The food is always good here and fresh. My only complaint is the lack of change on the menu. I am not sure it's changed more than once in the last 10 years yet we keep coming back. The outdoor deck is great weather permitting. The bar and wait staff are always good/friendly.

Al's Cafe has become a weekly family ritual. The ambiance of the restaurant area is superb with giant fireplaces and it's rustic classy setting. The bar area is segregated from the restaurant and is great for a few drinks and laughs. The bartenders are very attentive and wonderful making every visit more enjoyable than the last. We went there on a busy and crowded Friday evening. Surprisingly we were seated right the way. The restaurant was very loud so it is difficult to enjoy our conversation. The food was very mediocre. My New England Clam Chowder was full of potatoes and hardly any clams. It should be called potato chowder instead. We ordered the fry fish special... More

Approximately one year ago, my husband and I had a less than desirable meal at Al's Cafe. We decided to try the cafe again to see if the meals had improved. Unfortunately, we made a bad decision. Following our cocktail, we both ordered a fish sandwich; the smaller one piece option was listed as fried or broiled. Our server advised... More
