My daughter and I were visiting wineries in the area and asked a local for a good lunch spot. She directed us to a few different places in Gettysburg, but we were looking for something a little closer. I pulled up my Trip Advisor App and the Cashtown Inn was the first place listed and was only a mile from... More

I waited 12 years to stay here and it was well worth it. First of all there is the history. The Battle of Gettysburg essentially began on the road in front of the Cashtown Inn. Then there is the paranormal aspect. We saw or heard nothing unusual but the possibility always ads a little extra something. And finally there are... More

We spent the weekend in Gettysburg and was told by some work colleagues about this place. Upon first glance it looked like something out of Texas chainsaw massacre, but the inside is like walking right into the 1800s. The tavern only has about 5 tables and 5-6 stools at the bar, but the staff Jack(owner) Brian the waiter made excellent... More

This was an absolutely wonderful meal!! We made the short trip north out of Gettysburg to this historic Inn. We had called for a reservation and were seated in a small cozy dining area in front of the fireplace- perfect for a chilly fall evening. Two of us had the crab cakes which were big and absolutely wonderful, one had... More

Stopped by after reading the reviews for a nice dinner at 630 pm on a Wednesday. Saw one table finishing up their meal as I walked past the sign indicating they were open at 5pm. With no one at the host stand, in the dining room, or behind the bar, I walked to the kitchen to find an employee puzzled... More

The Cashtown oozes atmosphere. The building is ancient for this nation but the dining rooms are comfortable, well lit and spacious. Food here is excellent and each dish is composed of a main with interesting accompaniments. Try the Alaskan salmon with artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. Crab cakes are very good even though they are made in Pennsylvania and not Maryland.... More

Have never stayed but have eaten here on several occasions. I will always return because the inn has such important history, it's food is always delicious and the staff are great. My concern is that the restaurant is becoming cluttered with unnecessary ugly trinkets, statues, slogans and sayings that are totally unrelated to the property. Even if visitors have bought... More

The Cashtown Inn has it right in so many ways; the service, the décor, the menu, the fare, all presented in a most unpretentious way. All of us got the Lamb dish which was done to perfection with marvelous sides and sauce. We had parted ways over the starters. I prized my Red Pepper Soup sprinkled with delicious crabmeat. Couldn't... More

A little out of the way, it was worth the drive from Gettysburg to dine at the hotel visited by Confederate soldiers the day before the Battle of Gettysburg began. Good food, good service, and an awesome setting.
