Not only is Cynthia excellent host, but she is an outstanding chef. She made breakfast lunch and dinner during our stay. She packed lunches for us to take on our Heights. Everything from coffee in the morning to dessert after dinner was great.

We Stayed here for three nights and ate breakfast and dinner here everyday. Coffee or tea at your doorstep and fresh breakfast whenever you wake up. Atmosphere is clearly jungle with a giant dormant volcano over your shoulder. We stayed here on our honeymoon during my wife's birthday and over Valentines Day and couldn't have written a more romantic experience...... More

I went with a group of friends to this place after a hiking because supposedly there is a restaurant open from Thursday to Sunday and we wanted to have lunch on a Sunday. If the owner is not around, the person working for her can not respond simple questions like: do you have lunch? then waiting for the owner arrived,... More

I am very sorry for your reception. I changed my business model over a year ago to reservations only for non-Lodge guests and merged the restaurant into the Lodge. I failed to make that change on Trip Advisor, and thus your inconvenience and the dogs, which are at large when no one is around for security. If you read, the... More

Lovely dinner and breakfast. All ingredients were fresh and beautifully prepared. Cynthia provided a delicious bottle of wine from her well stocked bar to accompany our meal. Perfect!

If you want a place to escape for lunch, come here. If you want a place to eat after visiting the reserve, come here. The food is very nicely prepared and very fresh. The atmosphere does not get much more natural. Simply gorgeous. Note that this is only open Thursday through Sunday for anyone not spending the night.

Our group of seven happened upon this place on our way down the mountain. Very friendly staff, delicious homemade sangria, pretty good food. Great place for lunch and the rooms looked nice too.

The place is located in the mountains, it has an amazing climate and a very hospitable environment. The owner treated us very nice and cooked an amazing meal. We fell in love with her dog and ended up staying there for several hours! The cabins look cozy, a perfect place to relax and escape from the hot weather!

The Grill at Mombacho Lodge is so much more than a restaurant. We were met by Cynthia and her two beautiful dogs on the trail leading to the restaurant. By the time we reached the restaurant we felt like family. I started with a glass of her sangria. I could have stayed the entire afternoon, just sipping glasses of sangria.... More

As a very large hiking group, we descended on Cynthia, the owner of the Lodge and Grill, after a two hour hike feeling thirstier than 16 dry sponges and proceeded to drink all her Tona. She took our orders, fired up the grill and as we drank and laughed and talked lunch was served. The setting is exquisite and gorgeous,... More
