We've been here many times for brunch and dinner. The food is meticulously planned and exceptionally executed. Great craft beer list and full bar. Attentive staff. Leave room for dessert! Trapp Door isn't just a meal, it's a gastronomic delight!

Great alternative to the many cookie cutter chain restaurants in the area. Nice service, comfortable and great music. The food and beer is exceptional.

Recently we went to a family wedding in Allentown, PA. We were staying in nearby Emmaus and wanted to find an unusual place to eat brunch. We found The Trap Door on line. The address was out of town on a country road. Without a GPS we would have drive right by it because it just looked like a big... More

This is a fantastic place! It's super cozy inside here and the service is good. The beer selection is quite good and they're completely fine with you trying a sample of the draft beers, which is always great. The service is very good, but the real star here is the food. I had a chicken sandwich with fries, but it... More

We found this spot randomly a few years back and have been traveling the best part of an hour to dine here since. We have brought several of our friends along and everyone has thoroughly enjoyed a great meal along with excellent service. Food allergies are handled well, please consider phoning ahead to give them a heads-up. Always an interesting... More

From the outside it looks like a shack. Inside the food, service and in particular the beer is excellent. Some Brits are a bit sniffy about American beers, they clearly haven't visited the Trapp Door. I lived for 5 years in Belgium where they really know there beers and they have nothing to beat the range and quality served here.... More

Huge selection of unique and seasonal beers. Quite a few of them have a high alcohol content. The servers are extremely attentive. This is probably because you will need help understanding the beers and getting explanations of the meals. The entrees are rather small portions of very unique items and flavors. Prices are a bit high and you may leave... More

We ate here once and the food and service was good. It is an interesting place as the atmosphere was cosy. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new place to try.

We loved the food here! Very unique and tasty. This is not a bar with typical bar food. Yes, they have a ton of beer, but the food is something you would get at fancy restaurant. I know it's a beer place, but wish they would expand on their wine a bit. It's a small place so seating is tight,... More

We love a restaurant with a good story, and the Gastro Pub in Emmaus has a great story! 4226 Chestnut used to be the Cap & Table restaurant and Jennifer Funk was a bartender. Then one day, the wait staff shows up for work and the restaurant is shut down, vandalized and up for sale. After Jennifer calls the property... More
