Many special and unique items from many places. Fair-trade crafts from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Great for gift shopping and for yourself.

This tea room is attached to the Ten Thousand Villages retail fair trade store. Decor is varied with at least one table where you can sit on cushions on the floor. Also a sofa and a chaise to relax with your expresso or chai. Daily menu of wraps, soups, salads includes vegetarian, chicken and tuna options. Also a bountiful hummus... More

Ten Thousand Villages is a great place to shop for Christmas gifts as well as gifts for other special occasions. They have a little of everything from many different countries made by artisans who are getting fair pay for their beautiful works of art. I love the tea room as well. Great snacks and beverages and a unique and comfy... More

I can't say how much I love this place! The selection is from around the world and supports those local craftspeople with fair market value. You can find something for that person who thinks they've seen it all. I'm especially fond of their Christmas ornaments.

The name of the place becomes more clear the moment you walk in. There are hundreds of items to purchase that were made by people from villages around the world. Their goal is to sell items made by people in developing nations and provide incomes to their families. The cafe was nice, limited selections, but the wraps, soups and coffee/teas... More

I try to venture to 10,000 Villages in Ephrata at least once a year since we live about 1.5 hours away. If we lived closer, I would go frequently for lunches as they offer a surprisingly varied, nice quality lunch menu. (As a bonus, you can shop the high quality fair trade items in the 10,000 Villages store before or... More

For a shop that's titled "Ten Thousand Villages" I was surprised there was zero European representation nor any American representation. This shop sells exclusively African, Asian & Hispanic goods....nothing celtic, nothing Native American, and clearly nothing European nor Scandavian! This was a disappointment to me. I think, if the shop is labelled 10,000 Villages...it should have a wider sampling of... More

I love shopping here, the items are unique and interesting. The staff is great -- helpful without being over bearing. The cost thing here though is that the products you buy help support communities of small industry around the world. That bracelet sale might be the thing that gives a woman in Kenya hope, or that vase might be feeding... More

Not a PA Dutch cuisine, but definitely a part of the experience. Thousand Villages is an international consignment venture of the Mennonite Church. Very well done and worthy of support. The restaurant is a bonus with an international menu. Plain-food palates might have a problem, but sophisticated diners will be pleased. Menu pricing on the high side for Ephrata, but... More
