The Lamb is a traditional English pub serving a pretty typical English pub menu. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime and ate in the small courtyard in the April sunshine. Our party of 4 adults and 3 children were made most welcome. The pub was able to offer board games and paper and pens to entertain the children which was... More

My wife & I have been attending this Inn for just over a year now, we must have eaten here at least 8 - 10 times. We have also taken our friends a couple of times for a meal and a chat. Although we have tried various meals from the specials board, our favorite meal remains the steak & chips... More

We're so happy that you have enjoyed your visits to us and that you've written this lovely review. We do take pride in the quality of our produce and our steaks come from a well respected local, old fashioned butcher who sources all their meat from local herds. We have rung the brewery to inquire whether they have the Mango... More

We were very hungry afer a 9 mile walk and were delighted to find that food was still being served until 2 30 - it was a Saturday. There's a reasonable choice for vegetarians, good-sized portions and the newly refurbished front bar is comfortable.

A 'good pub' guide suggested this be a worthwhile stop in an unfamiliar town. Started the visit by requesting the dog dirt outside the outdoor entrance to the loos be removed. Decent pint of IPA straight from the barrel. An average lunch. Prawn cocktails were fine. Steak pudding was enjoyed. Ham, egg and chips was OK. Steak was tough and... More

Although a little late, we would like to offer our apologies for your less than satisfactory visit. We are a dog friendly pub and although we check often for deposits made by dogs, sometimes they do enjoy being a little sneaky. Once brought to our attention it is dealt with swiftly. We try our best to make all our food... More

A few of us ate here recently. Some of the favourites were the black pudding and potato cake, squid starter, venison casserole and gammon, egg and chips. The service was good and it is a proper pub with a good atmosphere. Sadly the cutlery on the table was dirty but other than that all good. Dog friendly and they have... More

I called The Lamb to book our work Christmas meal. Food is not normally available on a Friday evening, but the landlord offered to open the kitchen as we were a party of 8. We had the small stable room off the rear courtyard, it was lovely, very rustic and we were able to play our own music. I went... More

After reading some of the other recent reviews I had to check we had visited the same place! But yes, it is the Lamb in Marlborough. Maybe it's because we usually find ourselves there for lunch on a Sunday, but always excellent service and good food. I particularly like the crispy squid starter, almost enough for a main course. And... More

I hate pubs where the regulars are sat around the bar, making it impossible to approach the counter. To make things worse, there wasn't even a bar-person or landlord to ask for a drink. Never mind, the menu outside looked promising, so I waited. After a few minutes I gave up. If I couldn't even order a drink, I didn't... More

Monday lunch for two. What a big mistake. First off service - slow, dull and no interest. Partly served us,then three other customers, then back to us. So with three other orders in I asked how long our order would take. Not long, they are only small orders. The order prior to ours was served, eaten and the person finished... More

I Spent a day exploring Avebury and the surrounding area and had booked the Lamb Inn as it was in nearby Marlborough which had been a town I had always wanted to go to for an evening out. The 'hotel' is actually a pub with rooms, but don't let this put you off. My room was large and airy overlooking... More
