The place we wanted to go to was closed, so we happened on this spot. Even without a reservation, they seated us on a very busy Friday night. So glad they did! The gnocchi was very rich, the veal was perfect, and the filet mignon was amazing with the Gorgonzola sauce! Great wine, terrific salad, warm bread and dipping oil:... More

We were in town for IUP graduation and met up with a few of our friends in town to have an early Christmas get together. Made the right decision in choosing this quaint little restaurant! Cozy lighting, smooth music and a friendly staff is only the tip of the iceberg! The food had a quality that could only come from... More

I never thought myself a food snob, but after having lived in the New York City area for 20 years, I did not expect this quality of food in the midwest. And that is because I was raised in the area and remembered Chef Boyardee-style Italian food. For the appetizer, try the Sausage & Ricotta Crostini. The specials menu had... More

I'd recommend going early or making reservations as they are pretty small and obviously popular! My son and I had 1 appetizer (fried artichoke hearts - yum!), one drink (mine), 2 entrees with salad and bread and spent about $50 + tip. Great service! They are only open for dinner.

In her recuperative process after major surgery, the attending surgeon recommended that I take my wife out "for a steak." We chose Donatello's since we know people who work there. In my estimation the steak was "fair"...and the substitution of Alfredo sauce on the pasta side came at "a price"--and the inclusion of "blue cheese" on the salad also came... More

My husband and I went here on a date. On a weekend it fills up so get there at opening 4:30 or make a reservation just to be sure. Many people walked in but most tables were filled by 5:30. We were seated and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She brought out drinks and bread quickly. Dinner was... More

Donatello's specializes in Italian cuisine. Reservations are recommended because both the bar in front and the small restaurant in back are usually crowded. Typical Italian fare includes veal and chicken parmigiana, fettucini alfredo, and lasagna. Try the Italian sampler which includes soup, salad, and choice of three items from a list that includes lasagna, ravioli, chicken parmigiana, and fettucini. Nightly... More

My wife and I recently had diner at this establishment. We had been to their older restaurant and we liked it but our most recent visit was a let down. I had ordered the Sampler Plate and the penne, chicken parmigiana, and lasagna all tasted as if it we pre-frozen and heated up. The tomato sauce was uninspiring. The server,... More
