The Rising Sun was a classic wetherspoons pub, had it's fair share of grimey regulars who would leer at the staff and anything in their view. Food was good, atmosphere was disgusting, very dingy but that was more of an issue on the companies behalf....Staff worked hard to deliver perfect service, however the customer base and environment really brought it down.More

visited here on a trip to the theatre, absolutely vile. sticky tables and full of smelly dirty old men whose odour enveloped the room. table service was OK but only seemed to be 1 guy who was rushed off his feet . ordered meals to...be told there were no fish dishes available. 5 minutes later the couple on the next table both had scampi and chips. my husbands meal was minus 2 items, mine was missing 1 although we didn't realise until we re checked the menu. no one around to complain to but again in view of the whole situation probably would not have taken much notice. lucky to get 1 star rating. I think there needs to be regular visits here from area management to see this dire hovel.More

Even by Wetherspoons standards this place is not great. Staff are lethargic, tables are sticky and it lacks any kind of atmosphere at all. The choice of real ales is always second best compared to the other Wetherspoons in town. It'd really not difficult to...be one of the nicer pubs in Redditch, but this place fails miserably.More

Family of six including 4 adults and 2 children. I had pepperoni pizza and a pint of Doombar for £8.45, can't go wrong. Others also had pizza, curry and a salad. No problems at all with the food or the bar and table service. Staff...friendly and polite, we did not experience or see any rude or unprofessional behaviour from the staff as stated in the other reviews. Other families were in there too who we later saw in the theatre. Friendly atmosphere and is a typical Wetherspoons.More

After a long lockdown I was looking forward to a meal out but disappointed when I found a fly in my burger, but was refunded for food and bottle of wine after. It completely put me off my food and my friends food. So none...of us ate but unfortunately they wouldn’t refund my friends there money as well. Not sure I will return again for food after this experience.More

Arrived at 19.45 checked in & was shown a seat & ordered a drink 19.51 after 25 minutes & 3 reminders to servers still no drink. When a table next to me received there order within minutes of ordering I asked the server where my...drink was she came back to say there was a ½ hour wait so I asked for my money back. She came back & said if was pulled now would I drink it, to witch I said yes. After waiting over 30 minutes for a drink I drank a very nice beer within 5 minutes then left never to return.More

I went in yesterday to grab a quick lunch before my hair appointment. I used the app to order a drink and a meal. My drink arrived promptly and the waiter told me there was a 30 minute wait for food. After an hour’s wait,...I went to ask where my food was and explain that I would like a refund as I had to leave for my hair appointment. They said they didn’t have my order and I must have ordered it to the wrong Wetherspoons?! I explained that my drink arrived and that I also had the app to show I’d ordered it correctly. I had no real apology and was just told that my food would be refunded. I am yet to see if the money has gone back into my card. Terrible!More

Disappointing, we went for a quick bit to eat only to be served burnt offerings... I ordered mixed grill, the steak was dry, the gammon and pork were charred beyond recognition and dry. It was like our food had been kept in the warmers for...ages too. Utterly disappointed. Won’t be rushing back anytime soon.More

I’ve been here quite a few times, usually before theatre trips, always been ok. But I went last night for an Eat Out to Help Out meal with my husband and was really shocked how dirty the place was. Pretty much every table was covered...with dirty plates and glasses (and under the current circumstances we couldn’t clear ourselves a table). The glass clearing area was piled high with dirty glasses and mugs. We found somewhere to sit, used the app to order (which is brilliant), food came quickly and tasted lovely, the staff who served us were really nice. But when we left all those tables were still dirty. I wonder if the Eat Out to Help Out offer has overwhelmed them.More
