The food here never disappoints. Gives "home made pies" a whole new meaning, with all the different types you can get, as well as the various exquisite options for sides of mash, types of gravy, etc.
Crust is hard and crispy but not too hard,...just the right amount. Not too expensive, here, either. The chap who owns it is lovely, very helpful, very smiley. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants something simple but with amazing flavours.More
Rang up at 11:15 to check specials out of curiosity, told they don't know until pie delivery arrives. Fair enough....
rang at 11:30 to preorder for 12 as we're stuck for time and on lunch, told to ring back in 15.
Rang at 11:50 and...then get told they won't take orders on the phone. Please just say that in the first place if you cant be arsed taking the order and we would have came in time to wait.
So we couldn't preorder for lunch and had to come at 12 and wait 30 mins for it to be ready.. should be able to take an order on the phone, its not exactly a complex menu. Shop wasn't busy.
Other than this, good pies but not worth an hour of your work day to get a hold of one, try get them delivered if you can
Got a few balti pies and a hot pot, 2 stockport pies, a few mashes and they were decent, bit overpriced for what it is tbh, got the pie "deal" which includes a pie mash and gravy, for £6.00 then if you want a drink it'll be at least an extra £1.25 for a can. Meh.More
Who doesn’t love pie?
This is the best pie I’ve tasted the pastry and filling is excellent and of a very high quality. Absolutely excellent! And they deliver to your workplace. Amazing, keep up the good work
Pie me, oh pie me! My word does the owner know their way around a pastry treat that is out of this word. For ever changing fillings that is always tasty. A true gem within Stockport and the service is brilliant. Carry on the awesome...work and we will keep returning, time and time againMore
We have used Lord of the Pies a couple of times from work for a 'treat lunch'. Always ring the order through and collect. Ordered today at 11am when the shop opens, a total pf 6 pie meals. We were told the order would not...be ready until 1.30 (?) OK. At 12.30 we get a call to say they have run out of one of the pies, as they hadn't put them to one side, so we chose another. Arrived at the shop to collect and was told the order would be another 10 minutes. The shop was busy with people eating. Was just about to pay when the chef came out from the kitchen to say 'sorry we have no gravy left'. Pardon? No gravy? At the same time as this, someone else came out from the kitchen to pass another order to someone who had - guess what? Gravy!! Everyone in the shop eating had ... GRAVY! How does a pie shop run out of gravy at lunchtime?? I told the chef that I wanted to cancel the order ... she said 'but I have prepared the order'. Erm no you haven't ... incorrect pies and NO GRAVY. We're from Stockport. WE EAT A LOT OF GRAVY. Won't be going again.More
Let's start with the price. £1.85 for a sausage roll. Really steep price for the size. To put into context the size of this sausage roll it was like a mars bar, length and width. The worst part was the taste. It was absolutely minging....My team mate tried a bit and also spat it out. Honestly pound Bakery has better quality. Soggy pastry and what tasted like frozen meat. No seasoning. Not returning.More
My girlfriend surprised me with a delicious pie on Friday afternoon. It was the special which was Lamb Bhuna, the pastry was gorgeous and the filling was even better! A must eat if you’re in Stockport and wanting lunch or a quick snack. Very cheap...also, well worth the £3.50.More
i went into the shop today and ordered a stockport pie i was asked if i wanted a hot one or a cold one a hot one said the hot one was actually the cold one that they reheated or should i say incinerated and...had to wait 10 minutes for the privilege turned out it wasn't even the stockport pie when i got it home and managed to break it open it was some type of steak pie for £3.95 you should expect better on leaving i noticed they only have a 4 for cleanliness where do these good reviews come from never againMore
