The Polgooth inn was recommended by our host. And what a place to eat. Food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. If I am in that area again, I will definitely visit again

It is a couple of years since I last reviewed the Polgooth Inn, and recently had the opportunity to visit again. In fact I, along with my two adult daughters and granddaughter, visited twice. Once for lunch on a beautiful sunny day, and once in the evening for dinner. Both visits were a success with a wide choice for lunch... More

Visited the pub today for the first time and we were impressed by the friendly helpful staff. Good pint of Tribute and a varied wine menu. My husband had an excellent cod and chips, but I was unable to finish the duck with noodles as it was way too salty for me. However, this will not put me off returning.

This place is off the beaten track so to speak. It was recommended by the campsite owner. The food here is top notch and the service is great. A word of warning though, it gets busy. But that's a good sign right ? ;)

We popped in for lunch after a short trip from Devon. What a great pub! The burgers were the best we have ever had and the service excellent. Thank you, we will have to come back!!

Sunday lunch here is lovely. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the beautiful surroundings. On a warm day there is plenty of seating outside with shade provided. Loads of open space, and child friendly as well as allowing dogs. Had a lovely chat with a local sat at the bar and the staff were friendly and efficient. I'm sure we... More

Beautiful country pub/restaurant always managing to up its game. The landlord, landlady and staff are fantastic. Other pubs would do well to watch and learn. A proper lovely community hub.
