Very Friendly Atmosphere, with Open Fire, Horse Brasses and Old Village Photos. Food wise, don't expect 2 peas & a half peeled carrot,.. haute cuisine. The food here Fills the Plate, is as near Home Cooking as you'll get, Sourced as Locally as Possible and Cooked to Perfection. It's not on our doorstep but we call in at least once... More

I can't remember the last time I was in such a genuine local pub. The landlady, Carol, made us welcome from the start, as did the regulars. This is the place I would go if I lived locally. In fact this is the kind of place that makes you think how nice it would be to live locally! The St... More

This lovely olde worlde village pub was recommended to our disabled group. A lovely welcome, our music man was permitted to play his guitar while we sang along. The food is amazing value, particularly the liver and bacon. The best bit? The staff, the landlady chef was heard singing along in the kitchen then was seen dancing in the bar... More

One of the most friendly local pubs I have been in. We had a very acceptable pasty and a drink and when we left all the customers said goodbye!

Oh my goodness!! This pub was recommended by the owner of our B & B and, as it was only a stroll away we gave it a go. To be fair the man behind the bar (who we assume was the landlord) was friendly and the meal was average - we had steak & ale pie & chips which was... More

Live just down the road from this pub. Generally a very quite place, but beer is excellent, food good and the locals very friendly. Great place to pop into and just have a nice beer standing at the bar chatting with friends or Carol the landlady. Don't expect a rave or a wild atmosphere, just more of a 'dreckly' feel......Brilliant.

Real value for money and excellent quality in a friendly local inn. Quantities were more than generous. Not sure they have a healthy profit margin but great for customers!

OMG....what an amazing find... fantastic little gold mine... 2 lovely hot lunches for just pence over a tenner... just brill. Highly recommend the liver bacon & onions... enough for 2 on one plate. The steak & ale pie was just so tasty. Great atmosphere with friendly bar staff.

We stayed in the Chapel Guest House a few hundred metres away and this was the only pub within walking distance. It is a St Austell pub and Tribute is the regular beer. The pub is plain and simple but run by a very nice landlady and we spent a relaxing couple of evenings in there on both nights of... More
