Visited before so knew it was worth the detour off the Hume Highway. Good choice of meals, well prepared and tasty. Coffee was excellent as was the atmosphere.

My husband and I dropped off the highway to have a coffee. Merino Cafe is nicely appointed with tables both inside and out. I was waiting to place my order when a man pushed in front. The waitress knew I was next but did nothing about it. Rather than making a scene I let it slide. In the end after... More

A great place for the morning after the night before. Light and breezy, buzzy atmosphere. Eggs benedict were delightful and good coffee.

I was travelling from Yass to Sydney and my wife checked Tripadvisor for a good breakfast stop. The Merino Cafe was worth the slight detour off the M31. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff pleasant and polite and the eggs benedict and mocha were delicious! If you're travelling anywhere near Gunning, call in!

What a hidden gem this was. Beautifully restored with plenty of seating options. Lamb burger and vegetable frittata great choices for a light and healthy lunch. Coffee first class. Suggestion - they could do with some healthy drinks on the menu eg fresh juices or smoothies.

This is a lovely cosy cafe with lots of character and a lovely outdoor area. I Have been to this cafe a few times and have always loved the food. This time around I was a little disappointed. I used to really enjoy the home made lamb burger. When it arrived this time the burger tasted like a cheap, mass... More

Stopped on our way south to Melbourne. We had a beautiful lunch with all day breakfast. Always a great option after early start from Sydney. Food was delicious, coffee excellent. Even took a slice of cake for afternoon tea . Lovely staff.

We were traveling from Sydney to Melbourne and wanted a quick break. This cafe is quaint with loads of character and had awesome coffee, which is often hard to find outside the city areas. Gunning is a lovely heritage town. Will be back to take photos!
