Great Refurbishment

The Tavern has had a good refurbishment (new owners?) Very clean and tidy>>Food was OK good size serves>>except for specials a little on the dear side. We went for lunch so restaurant was not packed with not a lot people so was very pleasant. We will be back for lunch

On the pricey side for a tavern

Meal was okay but wouldn't add it to my favorites list. Portions were a good size but not huge and the prices on the high side for a tavern. Service was slow and tables were a little sticky which was a bit odd given all the covid procedures in place. Many tables were not in use but those that were were all situated close together.

The bistro has been renovated very nicely. Modern, clean feel to the place. Food was super quick for a large group and very tasty.

As regular customers we have noted a distinct lack of service. Bar staff would prefer to have a conversation with themselves rather than serve customers. As for clearing tables in these covid times... well that doesn't happen very often. We were at our table for 3 hours and no one came to clear the table of glasses. If you Sat bar side your food may be delivered that side but often not. Food would be left and buzzer may not be working so customers were unaware that their food was left on the counter. No one seemed to be monitoring this. Overall ,disappointed in the new management

Sendoff to mum

I needed a place that was personal and inviting, a final hooray to our mother We had a function room that opened to the outside so all weathers were factored in . The staff were very accommodating to our needs and friendly, The platters that we ordered were plentiful and the fruit extremely fresh and beautifully presented. Would definitely recommend to family and friends

Burger failure

We had the new NNT burger. Take away. We were told it is the exact same as the American cheese burger which we loved. Not at all: No tomatoes, the buns were totally soaked in mustard sauce. We think it was mustard sauce because that was the only thing we tasted. What a soggy mess. It totally fell apart. Yes, there were some gherkins. But we could not see any cheese in this saucy mess.

Poor food experience

The meal was really poor. The nachos was a dessert bowl of corn chips. The corn chips had to be dug out of bowl. A mess. The corn chips were from the bottom of a empty packet. A few whole, but mostly all small and cracked. The topping a small of amount of bolanaise and topped with mozarella cheese. I could not eat this meal it was terrible.

Went out with a group of friends, Caitlin the manger stopped serving cocktails at 10pm, only 2 drinks per person, no signage in regards to this, Caitlin’s attitude when questioned turned into the patron being told he was absivie . Then refuses service this patron only just arrived when he questioned the 2 drink thing. Caitlin the. Targeted our group. Two security guards thought they were hero’s after being told the refusal was racially motivated they had no respect or cultural safety. Being told you’re not aboriginal because of your skin. I will never step foot into north nowra taven again.

Absolutely shocking! Food is a long wait and terrible when it comes out. Been a local for a long time and it’s just getting ran into the ground. The new manager ( Caitlin or something) is ruining it with her attitude towards people. Highly recommend changing your ways

1.5 hour wait made up excuse machine stopped working. A six year old starving, no compensation. Use to be a local but not returning.

Huge meals

We visited for lunch on Sunday. The food was amazing and the meals were huge, we could not finish it all and probably could have shared one between us comfortably.

Poor service

Had friends visiting so thought the Sunday Roast for lunch would be a nice outing. Arrived 12.30pm Got our 4 roasts at 1.50pm1We went an enquired 3 times as to what was taking so long as was told 5 minutes each time. There was only 1 other couple waiting for a meal at this time. They were all cold so we took them back to be heated. They were then all mixed up and we had to sort out who was whose ourselves. This happened as the staff had the apple for the pork on the beef and the mint sauce for the lamb on the pork. We decided to have dessert but when we tried to order we were told it was too late as the restaurant was closed. Previous owners had all day dining on Sundays which is a much better idea. We did speak to the bar manager but he was not concerned enough to take our details so that management could get back to us. Very disappointing and embarrassing for us taking our friends there. I feel it is just a place that is trying to trade on the previous owners good name.
