A quieter night during the week. our waitress was very good and answered our million questions about the specials and menu items. Mushroom soup was exquisite. The mango salad was lovely beautifully balanced flavors and textures. We tried the Senegalese Cassoulet and the Scallops. Enjoyed every bite. I wanted to lick the last molecule of the shiitake sauce of my... More

The 4 of us has a great meal. Started off with Calamari and the Portabello Fries, followed by the mushroom soup and the arugula salad special - all delicious. I had the Veal Maderia and I was in heaven. Absolutely delicious!! My friend had the lamb chop special and there wasn't a scrap of meat left she said it was... More

The food was well-prepared and presented, although the pace was a bit too fast. I had duck, a large portion and moist; my husband had beef stroganoff, which was essentially short ribs with a rich sauce. The BYOB policy is a plus. Our main complaint was the noise level. We had trouble hearing our waiter and we heard much too... More

"Wonderful" is the right word for everything - the menu, food prep, friendly staff and owners - BUT definitely make a reservation, sometimes well in advance on weekends, and be prepared for a rather noisy experience on crowded nights - the rather long narrow space and low metal ceilings from stores of another era, although charming, can do alarming things... The greeting and service were top quality. The food was equal. Very good selection, very good quality and sensible price. I can not give 5 stars because the "atmosphere" took away from our enjoyment of Saturday evening dinner. The restaurant needs to put some type of sound adsorbing material on the walls and/or ceiling. There was a party of around... More

Found this place through TripAdvisor. What a find!! One of my best dining experiences ever. From the friendly greeting, server and THE FOOD! "Painting the plate" was done with care and precision. My shrimp "special" was truly special with saffron risotto. Highly recommend this outstanding gem!

After spending the day at Longwood Gardens, we went back to our hotel and asked about a descent place to have dinner. We were told about this restaurant. We arrived at 5:00pm sharp, all of the tables but two were empty. The hostess who hesitated to approach us, said we couldn't eat here since we did not have a reservation.... More

It was ok. My children took me there for my birthday. We had to wait a little while. With children it was a little hectic. Food was good. Little pricey. Service was medium.

Several couples went with us for a Saturday night dinner and everyone left impressed. Staff were very pleasant and attentive, but not overbearing. Asian meatball soup special was light and flavorful. My husband had scallops that were some of the most delicious I have ever tasted. My salmon was perfectly cooked and accompanied by root vegetables that were yummy. The... More

I recently had lunch at Portabello's, a restaurant we visit anytime we are in Kennett Square. Our perfect day is to go to Longwood Gardens until we are hungry then head to Portabello's. They stop seating at 2:30 but, if you get there before that time, you will have a fantastic meal. I believe dinner is served after 5:00 pm.... More
