This place was the only restaurant open for miles. We were staying at an AirBnB in Slatington and wanted to grab a bite for dinner. We found a few places open but were closing in the next 10-15 minutes and were about that far of...a drive away. Country View Diner was the only spot that would be open by the time we commuted. We had low expectations. It was your typical diner, but in the traditional sense, with the familiar menu selections you hope it would offer and the friendly service you expect. We got a gigantic meal included in a rather small price! A salad, soup and entree for about $15. It was cozy and sweet. No, it's not super fancy or anything but it's everything you expect from a diner: great tasting food, fast service and amazing prices! If I stayed in that area I would go here again.More

This location has a very good breakfast and the service is always excellent. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, so don't expect to go for dinner.

Lots of locals here. Heavy John Deere (tractor company) theme. Good coffee and great food and plenty of it. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. And right down the street ffor the Country Junction (world's largest general store.}

Returning from Pocono area from convention we were looking for a breakfast stop. My wife spotted the Country View Diner and said let’s stop here. Excellent choice. Breakfast was excellent and served very quickly. Our server was very friendly as were the rest of the...servers working. Seems like the local diner hangout for the citizens, and they too were very friendly.More

I like the "John Deere Tractor" theme of the diner. We have had both breakfasts and lunches here and were satisfied. The portions aren't huge, but the service is quick and the prices are quite reasonable. It is a cash only place and does have...an ATM in case you don't have cash with you. I love the strawberry rhubarb pie they have.More

Went Country View Diner on a weekend to have late breakfast. My eggs,home fries, sausage and toast were cold and the home fries were hard like they were sitting for a very long time on the grill before being served. I could not even eat...my breakfast. Wife had lunch meatballs & spaghetti which she told me was luke warm & bland. Waitress never came back to table to ask if we wanted another coffee or to see how the food was. The entire time she was talking to her co-workers about what she did the day before and what she was going to after work. The only time she came back to table was to toss the check on the table. I then told her about how bad my breakfast was and showed her my plate which was not eaten. Her response was “I will tell the cook”. Again she walks away not asking if we would like another coffee or anything else. I walk up to the register to pay which is right in the kitchen area. Thinking the person at the register would apologize for the bad food or offer some sort of discount. Nothing So when it was time to leave a tip. I left Nothing I’m 54 years old and never did that before. My usual tip is 20 %. I will never set foot in Country View Diner again.More

A typical local diner atmosphere where staff knows the community diners. Our lunch was good and staff was personable. The "cash only" with atm beside the check out window was "interesting" in today's world.

The breakfast was just so so. The eggs were good the hash brown patty tasted like Ore Ida. The “croissant” was not at all like it was supposed to be and it wasn’t worth the extra money. The coffee was weak BUT the rye toast...was good. Just stopped here for a quick bite but I expected a bit more.More

Stopped in for a late breakfast. An extremely basic diner that accepts cash only (an ATM machine is conveniently located inside the front door). Lots of choices for both breakfast and lunch on the menu, but there are a lot of caveats. If you want...breakfast after the normal breakfast times, then pay an extra dollar, because the grill in the kitchen gets crowded. Seriously? Many "do nots" or "can't substitute" hurdles. Nothing exciting about the food - it's just basic. Disappointed in the toast options. White, wheat or rye. What about cinnamon raisin? What about sourdough? How about bread that might be homemade, instead of out of a plastic bag from the local grocery store (and the cheapest). Won't seek this place out in the future. Real ho-hum.More

First time visit to this restaurant! Heard a lot about it and thought we would stop in for breakfast! The order was basic eggs, home fries, toast and coffee! The service was prompt and friendly and the order came out quickly! My wife ordered a...side of bacon, also! The potatoes were a disappointment and the bacon wasn't crisp, just limp! Price was acceptable, would we return, possibly!More
