This is an interesting place. Very Pennsylvania Dutch. Food is good home cooking. Very similar style to the Amana's in Iowa. Owner/chef Steve is a really nice guy. While we were there he went outside to help an elderly gentleman get his car unstuck from a snow mound. I recommend it if you want to add some good food and... More

I've been wanting to go to Deitsch Eck for years and finally made a trip out to Lenhartsville for lunch...and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. My mom and I made the short trip out from Kutztown and wondered why we hadn't done that years before. Large lunch menu...we both opted for the crab cake sandwich and potato filling. We... More

After a New Year's Eve shopping day at Cabella's, we needed a late lunch. Since it was New Year's Eve, places were closing early. Fortunately not the case for Deitsch Eck. We walked in, were seated in one of the 3 dining rooms and proceeded to enjoy an amazing real-deal home-cooked meal of local cuisine. I had German sausages made... More

This was an odd find on our travels. It really felt like we traveled to a different country. The atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant. The food was delicous. Nice hearty meals and well cooked dishes. A wonderful place to eat.

This homey restaurant captures Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine and decor with its multiple fraktur paintings and hex signs. The homemade food defines comfort. We had the meatloaf with potato filling (a mixture of mashed potatoes, herbs and bread crumbs), chicken pot pie (made with noodles instead of pastry crust), corn fritters (sweet corn deep fried nuggets) and veggies. Sampling the desserts... More

Friendly, home cooked meals. Nothing fancy, but good size potions, Reading brewed sodas, good coffe. The ham dinner wss like Sunday at grandma's. Burger melt wss huge. Home made pie. The fritters came in three varietis, corn, potato and apple. An oilcloth table covering, hex signs on the walls and crocheted doilies as shade pulls. No rushing you. Family size... More

If you are looking for a Mon and pop restaurant with classic PA Dutch cooking don't look for any other reviews, this is your place!! You might disagree as you round the block looking for a parking spot but trust me it's worth the search. You are greeted by a warm and friendly facility that will remind you of grandma's.... More

We often have driven by this restaurant and finally took the time to stop. Must have gotten there at the wrong time because they weren't extremely busy but we had to wait way too long to be seated and even longer to have our order taken. The food was average but the deep dish custard pie was the best we've... More
