Stayed in town overnight on a road trip and decided to pass on a nearer restaurant and walk to Max and Ermas cuz, it's vacation and I wanted something new. We were seated quickly and near a window. Boy this place was BUSY. We tried burgers and the tortilla soup (after hearing good things about it) and WOW was it... More

Their tortilla soup has always been one of my favorites - cheesy and delicious! I also had an excellent (and huge) salad and warm chocolate chip cookie :-). Always good food... however not at all on the "light" side as even the salad had a crazy amount of calories.

1st found Max / Erma's years ago in Columbus, OH and then 1 came to Myrtle Beach and it was wonderful, but it closed. While attending Golf Show in Monroeville, had dinner once again and the 3rd street salad and go banana pie are great and can't miss menu items.

We pulled into town at 9:00 after driving 450 miles, and needed a place for dinner. This worked. It has your basic burgers, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers menu. We ordered the spinach dip first, and were amazed at how much spinach was in the dip. Presentation was excellent also. Service was efficient. We will go back if we are in... More

We were looking for an inexpensive place off the Monroeville exit with real food as a lunch break during our trip on the PA Turnpike from Cleveland to DC. Our first choice nearby was WAY too crowded and noisy for comfort, so we ended up at Max & Erma's and were delighted. Adorned with photos of the owners, Max &... More

I ordered the balsamic glazed chicken with goat cheese mashed potatoes and asparagus...it sounds delicious! Well, you get two nice skinless, boneless chicken breasts with a balsamic glaze. I had a hard time cutting the first piece and I discovered why. It was real chewy and rubbery and inedible. Oddly enough, the second breast was tender and fine to eat.... More

We really do not enjoy eating in. It seems like they are almost always short staffed. They took our favorite shrimp and pasta off of the menu, so I usually just get the mozzarella chicken sandwich with tomato and basil to go. It comes with a fresh side of mixed greens and balsamic dressing. We make a habit of ordering... More

Food was yum, yum, yummy! Wait staff was great! Why do I have to type so many words in this review? I said it all in the first two sentences!

Food • Friends • Family • Fun In 1972, Max & Erma created a fun, unique, gourmet hamburger restaurant you could take friends & family to, decorating it with quirky artifacts & local paraphernalia. Since that day, we've been committed to providing our guests with delicious all-American food & friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere the whole neighborhood can enjoy. We've grown over the years, but always remain true to what made us successful-delivering a great guest experience. After all, Max & Erma wouldn't have it any other way.
