My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Sunday for simple burgers, He ordered the deluxe and I ordered a single cheeseburger. I did get what I had ordered, but thought they would have added a quarter of a pickle and a specimen size cup of cole slaw on the side. Usually when I order something like that,... More

Went here for an early dinner. The place was dirty and flies all over the place. Surprisingly the food wasn't bad. Had a burger and corn beef and cabbage diner special. We use to come here once a month when it was the Eagle now it is The New Hope Star Diner. We were seated at a booth by the... More

This restaurant, now known as the Red Star diner, is New Hope's one and only diner. The coffee has improved greatly under the new owners. They use Lacas coffee with freshly ground beans (according to the manager). It's fine for breakfast specials; waffles are good and available with fresh strawberries. There are many dinner specials, many of which come with... More

I had been told by locals to stay away from this place when it was The Eagle Diner. I thought maybe things had change when it became The New Hope Star Diner. I was disgusted by how filthy the kitchen help were when they came out of the kitchen. their aprons were covered in filth. The salad bar was disgusting... More

I went there last night for dinner with two other people. My husband had eggplant over spaghetti with tomato sauce. It was awful. He had stomach cramps and loose bowels afterwards into the next day. I had ordered the eggplant as a side dish. I did not eat it. The presentation of a over fried piece of thin eggplant was... More

If you are looking for a quick, no-frills dining experience for the whole family, this place is good. I have had sandwiches here and breakfast here and was pleased with the good, basic food! Good service!

This diner was once a fairly nice local option, but has really gone down hill. Breakfast is still fine (hard to spoil ham and eggs), but their dinner entrees are absolutely horrible. We had the terrible experience of their Turkey Dinner. Meat was grisly, the stuffing was grey and tasted aweful and the gravy was watery and disgusting!

Stayed at a B&B, but they did not deliver on the breakfast as promised, so were famished. Good hearty breakfast; nothing outstanding; just typical diner food. Service was good, as it is off season.
