Had a filet mignon and Brussels sprouts for dinner, with a great glass of “Routestock” Cabernet red (very tasty), and all was perfectly cooked and delicious. I have to say, however, that the unexpected highlight of my meal was the crab cake appetizer. The concierge at my hotel gave me a card good for a free crab cake at Eddie V’s, so I chose this restaurant over another option I was considering. I was not disappointed - it was easily the best crab cake I’ve had outside of Maryland (“crab cake heaven”?). Big chunks of crabmeat, very limited breadcrumbs, no overpowering sauces or mustards, just plain tasty - and a really good size. They price it at $20, so I’m glad I had the coupon, but I’d pay $20 if I had the chance to return. The service here was excellent, too. Highly recommend.

It was a special occasion for my husband and I. The staff is very observant and accommodating. The jazz band made the atmosphere perfect. The food was completely absolutely superb. The prices are slightly high, however to get good seafood prepare correctly sometimes it cost. Our crab legs came out too done and they replaced and took charge off our tab. The wine list is much larger than what is online, yes some of my usual was available but triple what I would pay at the wine store. Use the valet, so easier than trying to find a space and it only cost 9$

I’m not sure how anyone that has been here more than once cannot rate it 5 stars! We try to eat here at least once a month because we know the service and food will be among the best in the city (along with Monterey Bay, Chef Ed prepares amazing meals). Anytime we have guests in town, or if there is a special occasion, we always find ourselves dining at Eddie V’s. We have been getting takeout weekly and recently did the Easter dinner. We also recommended it to my in-laws, and we all raved about how great it was! Amanda, Juan Carlos and all of the managers always make our experience memorable. All of the waiters and waitresses, especially Matthew and Jesse are another reason we continue to return. They always make us seem welcome, and provide exceptional service! We will continue to visit this location with guests or for any special occasions we may have, and we would recommend anyone who has not had a 5 star experience to give it another shot. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent experience for restaurant week. First and foremost the customer service was phenomenal. They were very busy so our table was running a little behind. Once we were seated they insisted on a champagne toast due to the delay of seating us. The filet was to die for. Extra tasty, it did come with mash potatoes which were also delicious. The entertainment that came with the drinks and desert were very interesting. The smoked old fashion was presented with a flame along with the banana fosters butter cake. The environment was very classy and the jazz music topped it off.

Surprising delightful dining room& meal! Arrived after a few cocktails from the hotel& found my chemically enhanced sister already at her table with her pugnacious man friend with a twitch for a smoke. The dining room is delightful and has whiffs of an old school Metropolitian/city restaurant. 3 piece band playing softly in the corner was great- I even tipped them as it made the pedantic droning of my sisters woes bearable. Crab friend rice is amazing especially when paired with the buttery Chilean Sea Bass!! OMG- I was in heaven as the sour notes from the screeching sister mellowed with a great Wine Choice from the sommelier, Sancerre, made the food an amazing pairing. If you have to suffer with a family meal, go here immediately as every bite will balance out any bilious remark a questionably loved family member may say. Lighting was good for a date night, music delightful and staff good but perhaps a wee bit tired or at least of us as their shirt tales were out under their vests.

I have to be honest, I had lowered expectations for a seafood restaurant in Pittsburgh, but this place was fantastic! We had reservations, and it's a good thing, because it was jam packed. We ordered oysters and sashimi for appetizers, and they were fresh and delicious. The sashimi was nicely presented as well. We also had great cocktails. For dinner, one of us had scallops, one had branzino, and one had steak with scallops. Everything came out at the same time, and all the dishes were hot and done to perfection (including a medium rare steak perfectly done). The service was absolutely spot-on, with great attention to detail without hovering. We declined dessert because the meal was enough, but I had mentioned in the reservation that it was my mother's 84th birthday, so to my surprise, the waiter brought out a beautiful plate with mango sorbet, bananas foster, and one other dessert, along with 3 glasses of sparkling wine for us all to enjoy, and it was complementary! I have seen cupcakes with candles for a birthday, but never something so elaborate and so delicious. My mother was thrilled, and she will be talking about this meal for years! It was a great experience from start to finish, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

Before I get into the details of my Eddie V's experience, it is important to recognize every member of Eddie V's in Pittsburgh for providing such an amazing dining experience, especially during this pandemic. We were fortunate to celebrate our sixth year anniversary and thankful that we were able to have a great dining experience from beginning to end. When we arrived to the restaurant, our table was decorated with rose petals and a card as well. Our waiver, Jack made our entire experience memorable and can't thank him enough for going above and beyond the entire time. Attention to detail and genuine customer service is what you would expect from this restaurant. Drinks and meals were amazing, such as the Red Dragon, Mango Mule, Calamari, Scallops, Shrimp, and Bananas Foster Cake. If you really want a great dining experience for a special ocassion, I highly recommend Eddie V's. We will definitely be back!

We were visiting family who reside near Pittsburgh and were surprised when they said we were to dine downtown. Eddie V's proved to be an outstanding dining experience. We were seated in a small section slightly off the main dining room which gave us privacy and relative quiet to converse. Our server, Braden, was, arguably the most professional staff member I can recall encountering anywhere in the world. He was attentive and extremely helpful; never intrusive. The food and drink were memorable. A post-visit discussion could not create a "ranked" list of what was best; among our favorates, the Mediterranean Branzino (sea bass) prepared with artichokes, dried tomatoes and an olive tapinade; the parmesan sole, the 12 oz filet, all delicious and generously portioned. Do not ignore the sides: among our choices--the asparagus, the crab fried rice and lobster mashed potatoes. Starters included a very nice salad, lobster bisque and a "tower" of oysters. The desserts were tempting, but only the pecan icecream made sense as we contemplated the rest of the evening. The mean was not inexpensive; but you can pay a lot at many a restaurant and not receive the quality of food and service that we experienced in the Pittsburgh Eddie V's. (I had not encountered this network of restaurants before, but have noted other locations to keep in mind on future travels. Alas, they are not in Seattle.)

This is a high end steak and seafood restaurant, so expect to pay premium prices for your meal. That said, the service and the food were all at high levels. The wait staff was on top of everything and very social. They have great craft cocktails and a superior wine list. If you have not had a smoked old fashioned, then this is the place to try it. Be sure to know your wines as some do hit 4x retail price. The food was fantastic. The calamari app was cooked to perfection and the portion surprisingly large. All the steaks were cooked perfectly. It was fun to have the steak tartare prepared tableside and it was great. Can't enough about how good the food was. Just be sure to bring your wallet.

My husband and I dined here to celebrate our new marriage. Our server, Alex, was so personable and made the experience so amazing. We were offered complimentary champagne and dessert, which made dinner that much more special. All of our food was prepared beautifully and tasted delicious.

Looking for a nice place for dinner after a successful conference presentation, Eddie's seemed to be the place to gonin downtown, and I was not disappointed. Food was standard seafood and grill fare but was exceptional quality and service was fantastic. My curly-haired server was great value and we had some interesting discussions about oysters, wines and our common long curly hair styles. My oysters were delicious, with the addition of horseradish to the vinegarette a nice touch, and my striploin steak was fantastic! It was ab expensive meal, but definitely worth it. I'd return if in Pittsburgh again

My wife and I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Eddie V's tonight. Although this is a high-end franchise and our first experience at this Eddie V's, it was the benchmark for ALL restaurants. First I will start with the ambiance and decor which is top notch - definitely very appropriate for a special night out on the town, Our server, Taylor, had a wonderful, friendly personality and was very helpful with our menu selections. He was very affable and engaging as well as being extremely efficient. I would give him a 10 out of 10 for all qualities important as a server. The cocktails are all very imaginative, tasty and artisanal with a nice presentation. Super cool factor on the ones we ordered (smoked old fashioned and the Hope Diamond). I ordered a variety of fresh oysters and my date ordered the goat cheese salad - all excellent. We both ordered the 8 oz filet which were cooked perfectly and were absolutely delicious! Although I was very temped to order a seafood dish, they do a great prep for their aged beef, which was also superb. To top off the night, Taylor provided us a beautiful and very delicious anniversary dessert and champagne toast to finish off a perfect evening. Finally, the Maître D' (JC) checked on us at the end of the evening to insure that we were totally satisfied. Another very nice and personable gentleman! Franchise or not, the food and service at this restaurant are truly outstanding and we DEFINITELY look forward to returning to this wonderful establishment!

I don’t write reviews ever, but had to for this meal. Lobster and filet cooked to perfection and no joke was probably the best meal I have ever had. Our server Taylor was awesome. Lobster was super sweet, and filet melted in your mouth, was so juicy and flavorful and had an incredible crust. It was my birthday and they gave me this banana soufflé or something free of charge that was unreal as well. My brother in law had the same meal and he echoed my comments about the best steak he has had. Will absolutely return!

Excellent restaurant (nationwide chain) where the standards are kept high, and the consistency is very apparent. The best seafood and the service is impeccable. The oysters are always fresh, the lobster pot is amazing, and their fish offerings are quite good. I usually get some type of sole. When in Pittsburgh, Eddie V's is my go to if I only have one night to spend. I have not had a bad meal yet. My only complaint, if you want to call it that, is that they have live music at the bar area, and it can get slightly noisy. I don't know why they feel that they have to have live music in a fine dining venue, and it is not for me, but I'm sure there are others that may appreciate it. To each his own, but it can get a little noisy. The food, however, is primo ... so maybe next time I'll bring some noise cancelling ear buds, or something Definitely eat here, if you're not on a budget, and safe travels !

My wife, best friend and I were in town for the game and decided to try this one of many steakhouses in Pittsburgh. The best part of the meal was our server Justin who was genuinely happy to have new customers. Although trying to upsell us (normal), he was extremely personable and made us feel very welcome. We had the seafood tower which was great but for the lobster which was tough and chewy. We had very nice cocktails and ordered cowboy ribeyes to share. The steaks were good, but I have had much better at many other similar steakhouses. We had the crab fried rice which was excellent as advertised and the potatoes which were fine. We also had the king crab side extra which cost $50 which was ridiculous for 1.5 small legs. They were cracked for us but were a bit cold. They were out of the lava cake which is what we wanted so we settled on cookies (very good) and berry sorbet which was great when it wasn’t freezer burned in sections. All in all it was a nice experience. I would go back but will try other restaurants before I do.
