Pricey, food dining in is passable, take away is quite disappointing, especially the wanton soup which is just a lump of chalk thrown into soup that's tasteless. Service is average, though the counter supervisor seems to be grumpy most days

Truly authentic chinese! They have a menu for the American-ized version, or you can order from the menu written in Chinese on the marker board for more authentic stuff (They will translate). I read some of the bad reviews about this palce... it's authentic, it isn't a chain, it doesn't have a glamorous look... just good authentic Chinese food!

So first, the place is a dump. They may have plastered and painted some walls, but from the nailed down carpet, to the holes in the ceiling and the food-packing next to the register I would not go in there again. The teriyaki chicken was more like leather on a stick. The egg rolls were like heavy doe. Anyway, for... More

I called in for a pick up and my husband picked up, so he didn't realize we were overcharged and also regrettably didn't check the food before leaving with it. good flavor, small amount than an average Chinese place and my large wonton soup was pathetic, id never serve that, i got like 2 wontons and literally all broth for... Thought we'd try out and new place and very happy we did. We love spicy food, and there was plenty of it on the Shichuan menu. Dishes were huge and the waitress was a sweetheart. We'll be back.

My son just got into Carnegie Mellon and having visiting the place quite often recently...we explore good Chinese places everywhere we go...and we have eaten at about 5 different place here and this place is so far the BEST - the food quality is excellent. The ambiance is not that fancy...kind of "hole in the wall" place. Their Ma Po... More

We placed an order (delivery) for a number of different dishes. Delivery was fine and the food was OK, but nothing special. Given that the restaurant specializes in Szechuan cuisine, we ordered Szechuan Tofu as one of the dishes. Two members of our party are vegetarian and they were looking forward to this dish. Did you know that fried tofu... More

I've only had Chinese food from two restaurants in Squirrel Hill. How Lee and Sichuan Gourmet. An Asian American coworker recommended them to me and I was happy that I trusted her judgement. By far I prefer How Lee restaurant. I admit to only having General Tso's Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice at both (Should probably expand a bit, huh?).... More

Nothing much in the way of decor, but everything we ordered was quite good. Service was friendly and fast. Seems like a favorite neighborhood spot.
