When my wife and I heard Lidia Bastianich had a restaurant in Pittsburgh I didn't even bother to read the reviews before we went, we knew it had to be great, wrong. We have eaten at her restaurants in NYC and they are amazing. This place makes The Olive Garden look like a gourmet Italian restuarant compared to it. I... More

Though it was a super busy evening and service was a tad slow, the food was great. We did the three types of pasta that came with a salad and dessert. Two of three pastas that evening were excellent! The ravioli filled with goat cheese were light and creamy. The orecchiette pasta included pancetta, onions and peas and was in... More

We stayed at the homewood suites by Hilton hotel and Lidias was a few min walk down the street..It is a really nice place for a sit down fancy dinner, also expensive..We were more looking for a bar and grill type place that would fit us better.. The food was good but not great, they had a $45 steak but it... More

The staff and the food at Lidia's are outstanding! The pace of service is slow but not excessively slow. A number of different types of dishes are served. Not the same old Italian faire. Delicious and highly recommended!

We ate at Lidia's several times when it opened, were one of the first to use their upstairs room for our (small) wedding reception in 2004, and have been there probably 2-3 times a year since. It's always the same. (Of course, they have changeable specials.) And that's good for us since we like it. They remodeled and there's not... More

We arrived to find the restaurant lively and busy, with a positively good atmosphere about it. Although we were seated close to the bar, and effectively away from the main group of people, it did not spoil our enjoyment. We took the daily special "Pasta Taste" which is a combination of three different types of pasta. Staff returned with a... More

Perhaps going to this restaurant on the night of the Steelers game was a mistake. The food seemed to be prepared in such a way as to suggest that the cooks would rather have been watching football. The salad was filled with grit and I had to send it back (it was removed from the bill). I had the Polpettes which... More

Very nice, subtle decor. The bartender was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable per everything on the menu. It was as if he were the chef himself. We were treated very warmly upon arrival and that customer attention and care continued throughout the meal. I can't say enough about the food. It was delicious, and, as a bonus, very close to our... While on business in Pittsburgh, our group went to Lidia's. One of my colleagues is a big fan of Ms. Bastianich, so a meal here was a must! The food and service was top notch. If you have the chance to visit, try the gnocchi and the butterscotch budino!

Went here for the first time during restaurant week hoping to find a new great place in Pittsburgh. No such luck. Food was barely average and cold. Service was as cold as the food. Shame because the restaurant is in a great location and is beautiful inside. We will not return.
