This place has some great Mexican food, however every time I've ever been here the service has been less than desirable. In the fall the offer gobbleritos which is by far their best dish.

Mad Mex is always a good choice for lunch or dinner!! Many options...protein & vegetarian! Burritos, salads and wings are always fresh! Happy hour is from 4:30 till 6:30. Margaritas are not weak!!

We went for lunch so it wasn't crowded. I got the burrito with steak, it was big I could not finish. It comes with guacamole and sour cream, no extra charge. My daughters enchilada was also large. Well worth it. A very good craft beer selection too.

We are brand new to Pittsburgh and came here at the recommendation of others. We love mexican food and are specifically looking for our "go-to" place for our weekly fix. When we arrived we were certain this place was going to be awesome as the wait time was 50+ minutes on a Tuesday night. It was packed and very difficult... More

This place is dark, loud and full of hipster millenials. For us "over 40" crowd, the "vibe" is a little too much. Some servers have the millenial attitude, but most are friendly. Food is not-your-typical Mexican fare...kinda "hipsterized", but fresh and flavorful. Great burritos, tacos and soups. Margaritas are strong and delicious!

I had lunch with friends. I started with a bowl of tortilla soup. I have had many a tortilla soup but this looked like none of them. It was red and mushy in texture like a thick bisque, and had an after kick. Mine was served with cheese and tortilla crisp narrow strips on the side at my request. A... More

My review may have been higher except I just returned from some great Mexican restaurants near San Diego. SD delivered 2 baskets of chips with 4 types of salsa, Mad Mex -NONE! The fajitas were bone dry, but tasted OK. Pittsburgh does not offer many great Mexican alternatives, so Mad Mex may feed your cravings.

Their unique menu shows wonderful creativity. Lots of vegetables in new combinations and variations of old standby tacos, burritos and enchiladas. You might not expect red cabbage or Brussels sprouts or bean sprouts on a Mexican menu, but you would be wrong! This is NOT a restaurant where everything tastes like it came out of one pot. Great with kids... More

I was pleasantly surprised! I expected another overpriced taco place and I was so wrong. Uniques combinations of unique ingredients like pepita hummas, etc.
