We stopped in for lunch after going through the market. It's a nice place that has a great feel to it. My wife got the chicken and waffles and I got the crab melt. I did not really care for the chips at all - a bit bland. The service was ok but should have been better since they were... More

We recently had lunch here and as usual the service and food were very good. We sat out on the upper level patio as the weather was amazing. Chris was our waiter and he was great. We shared the Bert and goat cheese salad and it was good. We did not care for the dressing. The crab cake sandwich and... More

We spent three nights in Charleston, and by far the meal here was the best we experienced (even though most of our other meals were also at highly rated places on TA). All the dishes were extremely flavorful. The She Crab soup was absolutely fabulous, as was the Boullabaisse. My husband had the Hangar Steak, which was wonderful. Our server,... More

Lowcountry Bistro was our introduction to a couple of regional dishes--shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles--and they set the bar high. The food was fresh and well-prepared. We also enjoyed the fresh local salad and local beer on tap. It's across from the city market and easy to find. The wait staff was helpful and didn't steer us wrong.

We loved the Lowcountry Bistro so much, that we ate here twice on vacation. Their fried green tomatoes (good anywhere in town), and Carolina crabcakes are excellent. My fiancé loved their Market Street Sangria, made with peach moonshine so much we had to go back for a second visit. They have a nice balcony overlooking the city market.

Went for lunch on the recommendation of our hotel as it was just a few blocks walk. My daughter and I each ordered the Shrimp Po boy and my husband ordered the Cuban sandwich. All sandwiches come with homemade chips. The shrimp were fresh and lightly fried. The menu stated that it had tomato chow chow which I thought would... More

We ate here as part of restaurant week (which is more like a month) and we were not at all disappointed. The salads were great, our entrees (I had bouillabaisse and my wife had the chicken and waffles) were terrific (especially my wife's), and dessert was not bad, either. Service was incredibly helpful and friendly, too.

My husband and I had an outstanding New Year's Eve dinner at this charming restaurant. The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The chicken and waffles may be the best fried chicken I've ever had, and the pork belly and scallop appetizer was delicious! Service was friendly and efficient. Even though it was New Year's Eve, we... More

Description
SIMPLY LOWCOUNTRY: Lowcountry Bistro focuses only on the freshest ingredients since all of the food we cook is from scratch. On the menu you will find cult favorites like Chicken and Waffles to Lowcountry classics like Shrimp and Grits. We also believe that great food can be affordable. Many of our lunch dishes are under $10. Our goal as a restaurant is to serve high quality, delicious food, at a fair price. We hope you agree after your meal at Lowcountry Bistro. SISTER RESTAURANT TO 82 QUEEN As an icon of the city for over 30 years, we have seen restaurants come and go. We pride ourselves on the fact that we were one of the first original Lowcountry cuisine restaurants to open their doors in the city. We know Lowcountry and after diligently researching Market Street restaurants, have come to the conclusion that what the area needs is a true, authentic Lowcountry restaurant.
