We visited this last Saturday and dined with some good friends. The food was superb. The wine suggestions were perfect and desserts were to die for. Brian (our waiter) was on point and provided the exact amount of support for us to get the most out of this culinary experience. Hats off to the entire team at Circa.

Everything we could expect at this superb dining experience. First class service, attentive staff, and impeccable timing. Before starting the chef sent out a couple of tasting amuse bouche - a cube of quince with Boursin cheese and a marcona almond then a taste of English pea soup. We started with a fresh farm egg app and a Parmesan &... More

We had reservations for our 20th anniversary and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations, staff and food. A great romantic setting. We had a fantastic waiter (Charles) who was very knowledgeable and personable. Food presentation was beautiful (Salad, Antelope, Duck). The Orange zest butter was great. Pea soup outstanding. The surroundings (inside and outside) were beautiful. My... More

Was looking forward to an exceptional meal at Circa 1886 for a trip to celebrate my Husband's birthday. We had a 7:30 reservation and our table was not ready until nearly 8 PM. There was not adequate seating in the bar for us to wait. I admit, we are foodies and I was really looking forward to this meal. We... More

This is a gorgeous restaurant with an uppity attitude. In a former carriage house, the setting is lovely with barn doors and coffered ceilings. We had to wait a little for our table and we felt the maitre d' was not very pleasant. We enjoyed the amuse bouche (white bean soup with truffle oil). Our waitress recommended the snapper which... We had very high expectations for our dinner here, but were sadly disappointed. After reading reviews we expected the restaurant's ambience would be outstanding, the food delicious, and the service excellent. We were disappointed on all three counts. We did not find the room to be that unusual or that well decorated, the service was mediocre and the food unremarkable.... More

The meal we had here was exceptional. We are foodies and this place is a gem. One of us had the tasting menu and the other ordered off of the menu. EVERYTHING was exceptional. The service, presentation, quantity and quality were all first class. The antelope was amazing. We ate at 10 different "best of" restaurants in Charleston and this... More

We went to Circa 1886 on our last night in Charleston. We definitely saved one of the best for last. Although expensive we felt it was definitely worth it. We ordered a beef dish and lamb osso bucco. Both meals were excellent, very tasty and tender. This restaurant also brings little extras to the table prior to your meal. Our... More

Chef Marc Collins draws inspiration from many cuisines around the world to create a menu that is truly unique to the Charleston restaurant scene. Drawing inspiration from historic Southern dishes and always highlighting what is local and in season, Chef Collins puts a healthful, distinctive spin on classic Lowcountry dishes. This means there is less butter and cream than typically seen on Southern menus. Whole grains are incorporated to dishes and ingredients are used at the peak of flavor. The result is satisfying dishes that retain their bright, bold flavors without the large amounts of fat found in many restaurant dishes. From our Plantation Rice Bread Rolls made in house daily, to the selection of local seafood, to Pastry Chef Lovorn’s incredible desserts, each dinner at Circa 1886 celebrates the region we call home. Let our professional, attentive, experienced and knowledgeable staff guide you through the menu and help select a wine that is a perfect pairing for food and budget.
