Food for the Southern Soul was a great find! They are located in the Charleston Farmer's Market. My friend and I were looking to cool off and walked up on this place. My gut told me we must try the barbeque and I'm glad I did. It was tender and flavorful. I'm from North Carolina so we are known for... More

BBQ was tender and flavorful...only got the pulled pork BBQ sandwich as a snack and it was awesome! Added peach hot sauce and my taste buds had a party! Saw people eating the ribs and meat fell off the bone...great break from the heat of the market and yummy quick eats in the area.

We arrived in Charleston hungry, but didn't want to spoil our appetite for dinner. The brisket sandwich hit the spot and was big enough for the two of us to get a good, mid-day snack.

Excellent short stop for bbq pork sandwich. Good prices and my husband had the spicy vinegar sauce while I had the Henry sauce, which was a tomato/mustard base. We both loved it. Can't talk about sides as we just had sandwiches.

This isn't going to be a 5 star dining experience, but it is delicious, quick bbq in the city center. We were in a rush to get to a tour and this fit the bill perfectly. We got the pulled pork sandwiches with the classic bbq sauce (delicious) and were pleasantly surprised. The sides (coleslaw and mac and cheese) were... More

I seriously get multiples to bring back to Florida. I have not been able to duplicate the banana pudding and their prices are reasonable $4 for 2.

Visited here while at the market and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I had the red rice and it was so good and just $2.00 for a nice serving . My daughter had a pulled pork sandwich which was not skimpy on then meat and there are sauces to choose from. Very nice service . Grab something there... More

We had to come back to get fresh brisket, but it was worth it with how fresh it was. The price point is pretty reasonable, but the chips are terrible that they serve with the sandwiches.

Soul Food In the Finest Way !!!!!! One of the best meat and 3 that I have every eaten at. The veggies are fresh and the meats are all cooked to perfection.

Haven't tried their food(we had already eaten) but the lemonade was great and with their offer of free refills all day (they tell you to just keep your cup) they have my vote. We got one and kept coming back all day as we toured the market. Hope to eat here next trip to pay them back.
