The room is nice, though loud; service is good but they would remove some used plates and glasses from some of our places and leave others, no discernible reason. The wine list is very good ( there are even two St. Emilion's) and fairly priced. The portions are large and well presented but our party of seven agreed that the... More

We spent New Years Eve there and the service and food was excellent. I eat there almost every time I am in Charleston. One of the last times I was there, I asked if the Chef could make something not on the menu. He did, and I had the very best shrimp and grits I have ever eaten.

Went their for New Years Eve & paid a set price. It was worth every dollar spent. One of the best lamb dishes I have ever eaten & the service was wonderful.. This is a "must visit" restaurant!

Wife and I went there for our 23rd Anniversary. They had a cozy corner booth for us with complimentary champagne. The food was very good and the service was great. We will go back again on our next rip to Charleston.

While the location and atmosphere are desirable (with live music) we found the dining experience to be just average. My started out with foie gras stuffed mushrooms. They were quite tasty - but were in a sauce that was too salty. Next I had swordfish - while my wife had the duck. My dish was again way too salty (... More

We've enjoyed High Cotton many times in the past, and will certainly be back. However, they were a bit off their pace recently (Dec 30). I note that the owner, Dick Elliott, is running for Mayor of Charleston. Hopefully, when the election is over, he can get back to running a restaurant! We came in with a table of 5... More

My husband & stopped in at the bar for drinks and live music after dinner. Fun, friendly atmosphere. Loved the band - Cattle in the Cane. Will certainly come back for dinner at a later date or to stop by for music again.

You'll feel like you are in high cotton (couldn't help it) while dining at this restaurant. Its classic decor, live music, and gentlemanly approach to service will have you hooked. Have a cocktail in the bar area first--something like a Sazerac should set the mood; then, go all in during your meal with the rack of lamb or the Steak... More
