We always find the service exceptional and the menu a surprise since it changes daily. We are vegetarians, and the chef always offers at least one vegetarian main course as well as salads that suit our taste. We usually go at lunch and find the prices reasonable for such well-prepared fresh food and the restaurant less crowded. If possible, we... More

This is a fine dining restaurant with only seasonal ingredients, consequently the menu changes all the time. We had the quail as an appetizer, it was amazing. My husband had the flat iron steak, it was cooked to perfection, delicious. I had the swordfish. ... It was overcooked and not fresh. It was a disappointment. I love swordfish, and this... More

We love to come here for brunch- they have good deals on mimosas! I love that they hand write their menu- only fresh seasonal food here! I've gone at night too, nice wine list and the bartender is great too!

I've been here twice and really have no complaints. The food is fresh and the menu changes daily. The first time I had the meatloaf and Friday I had the roast beef sandwich on jalapeño cornbread. It was so good. It came with potato salad that was a little spicy. If you want to try something fresh and new, this... More

All their food is locally sourced, I had Rabbit from Head to Tail, which was actually a saddle of rabbit wrapped in ham, served atop squash, baby carrots and peas, along with a poached pear salad. Both were delicious and I particularly appreciated them splitting the salad for us (without asking). Their wine list was extensive although availability by the... More

On a recent visit to Columbia, to drop off my wife who is a Soldier in Training at Fort Jackson, I was feeling pretty low and knew that I needed to grab a good meal before a long, lonely drive home the following day and I am so grateful I choose the Motor Supply Co. Bistro because the dinner I... More

I had heard people rave of Motor Supply for some time. Friends asked us to join them and their family for a Sunday Brunch (which we did). Reservations were made. When we arrived our table was not ready and we had to wait...once the server came to our table, many of the offerings (limited) were no longer available as they... More

A high energy but pleasant restaurant with an interesting and varied menu! Valet parking which is great! We have never been dissatisfied with any of their dishes, wait staff is very attentive! A little too loud for us older folks but we always go back for the great food and service!

Rude waiter. Slow to respond to drink order. Showed me a snarl when I ask for mayonnaise.l; stated they makevtheir own sauce... Scallops, Shrimp over grits with lima beans. 3 scallops and shrimp was very bland and seemed frozen Very small portion for $33. Overated, overpriced. Comments from travel warrior.

Some great (ambience...wait staff...cheese board as appetizer.....small scallop plate...deserts)) Some not so great (longer waits for food....shrimp special dish not ready for prime time:underfilling and overpriced) I was just expecting greatness. Dinner for 4 was a bit $, and we were a bit hungry at the end. I would give 3.5 stars. Been there for lunch/brunch and it was 4... More

Description
Located in the historic Congaree Vista with a heated patio and free valet parking, Motor Supply has been serving progressive, New World cuisine using classic French culinary techniques for over 20 years. Led by Executive Chef Wesley Fulmer, the kitchen's lunch, dinner and brunch handwritten menus change daily, featuring contemporary New American cuisine, with nods to Creole, Cajun, New Southern, French, Italian and Asian cuisine. We are Columbia's foremost "farm to fork" restaurant, working with local, sustainable farms for produce, meats, SC seafood and more. Seafood is caught off of the Carolina coast, and all of our stocks, sauces and desserts are made on site, including our charcuterie, with house-made sausages, bacon, country pate, and rillettes, all the way down to the pickles and mustard. Our early 19th century, solid-oak bar with marble columns, imported from Europe, serves 180+ fine wines (Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, 2006-12), an extensive list of imported, domestic and local craft beers, as well as an artisan farm-to-shaker cocktail list made from house-infused liquors, handmade bitters, barrel-aged spirits and locally-sourced ingredients and garnishes.
