My husband and I heard about this place from the FishEagle's tour guide. Its a quaint family run restaurant on the shores of Lake Marion. Though the catfish was farm raised, it was fresh, light and delicious! Our server was very attentive and we felt right at home. We enjoyed our meal watching fishing boats and flying osprey. It doesn't... More

This is definitely an out of the way place to eat, but well worth the visit. Stumphole Landing is off the beaten path with lots of great views. We ate at the restaurant at the boat landing. The grill has breakfast and lunch/dinner. It's a fun place to visit with lots of interesting things on the walls. There is a... More

I was introduced to Stumphole years ago by a friend who described it as "Santee's best kept secret". If you want fancy atmosphere, linen napkins, fine china and crystal go somewhere else. This is fish camp dining at its best!! Reasonable prices and laid back atmosphere keep me returning.

We come down to SC two to three times a yesr. Out of the way and if someone didn't recommend it you probably wouldn't just walk in. Great catfish, fried balogne, homemade pies

My husband and I rode 75 miles by motorcycle to get the catfish, and it was well worth the trip! We usually catch and fry our own, but when we heard about Stumphole we had to go there! My husband got the catfish basket, includes fries and slaw for $10.95. The catfish was delicious! I tried the sampler basket of... More

Whew, this place is dirty beyond any restaurant establishment I have ever seen. Food is pretty good and I would come here again if the place got cleaned up. I think they are a bait and tackle shop first, bar second, and restaurant third.

Best catfish basket I ever had. The catfish was cooked to perfection lightly breaded, lightly fried, it was hot and sweet. I wish I lived within a days travel. You can also come by boat. 5 stars. It's worth the trip even from Maine.

We were in Sumter for the Iris Festival and my husband was looking for good fresh, fried catfish. After some research, I found Stumphole Landing and we were not disappointed! We both ordered the fried catfish basket, his with fries and mine with baked potato, and we both agree it was the best we've eaten! The food came to our... More

This restaurant will not disappoint the intrepid traveler. Local catfish is a speciality, and very good it is too. So here's how to find it..... From I95 and Santee head on the 6 towards Elloree, taking a right fork about 2 miles short of Elloree - signed Elloree Elem and Middle School. This is Tee Vee Road but is not... More

Stumphole Landing 18 Halter CT Elloree, SC Not an easy place to find unless you know what you’re looking for. We were out riding around the area and ask a local where they would recommend for lunch. He gave us direction to Stumphole and off we went. After following the direction we encountered a ‘dead end’ road sign and turned... More

It is a campground diner .... and just like some of the places on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The fish was freshly caught! They have the best coleslaw! They have outdoor seating overlooking Lake Marion. It is not fancy but their food is excellent and their prices good. (We went back 3 times to get carry-outs.)
