Went there with a party of 5 ($300) for my daughter’s 18th birthday. Food good but disappointing that they didn’t make more of a fuss about her birthday and at least bring her a Tiramisu or similar.

Thank you Davani's for a wonderful Anniversary Dinner. Our B&B referred us to you when we asked specifically for a restaurant that was not in the downtown area. We hit the jack pot! Our dinner was EXCELLENT. We had the chicken parm and chicken marsala...-- both were cooked to perfection. The owner, Rocky, was very gracious to us. He stopped by our table and introduced himself and then made a point to check on us before we left to see how we enjoyed our dinner. Last but not least, our server was delightful. Since it was our first time to Davani's, she took the time to go through the menu -- letting us know what dishes were the most popular, etc. Next time we are in Greenville, our first stop for dinner will definitely be Davani's.More

Tried this place last night based on other reviews and them calling themselves "fine dining." Veal marsala had a small piece of veal, made with canned mushrooms- the appearance and pickled taste unmistakable' served with almost cold mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Grew up in...an Italian household and cook some myself, we never had mashed potatoes with something like this. Beware, menu does not mention the sides. Shrimp and scallops in the "Provencale" were small and overcooked. Overall a huge disappointment. These people don't seem to have a clue what real Italian food is, especially for their prices.More

Food: Used to be waaaay better, something Changes!!!!! This restaurant used to be my favorite in the area, Pre-COVID. Something changed, either the chef or just cutting corners due to economy. The dishes that Still original: #1 Escargot and #2 Wild Boar/Venison sausages ( both...dishes are my favorites The Lobster Ravioli is still original and excellent The Bolognese still very good The Shellfish Fra Diavolo is just OK The problem, is the Veal Piccata… it is disgrace to the name of this dish …. Just terrible, there is no way to describe it another than… call out any thing but “Piccata” The Rack of Lamb.. Tastes Ok, but the price to portion is disproportional. Three very thin pieces for $42 is just ripe-off. I know food prices are unreasonable these day, but if you have to serve a main dish, you need to be fair. Drinks: the wine list is limited, but you may find something decent and reasonably priced, by the bottle just 2-3 times the market value Service: This is a very busy place and always understaffed, don’t expect much Ambience/atmosphere: nice ambience if you sit in the private-wine cellar area Value: Average price for not highly end establishment Overall rating! 3 out of 5 overall Recommendations: I am not sure I will come back, for now, I dropped it from my favorite list and await to hear if it gets better, at least to the level it used to be.More

His help was "what do you want". Our food arrived in a timely manner and...was "average". Many much better restaurants in GreenvilleMore

Honestly, I l am incredibly embarrassed and disappointed by the level of disservice from my most recent server and the owner of this restaurant. Mind you, I am visually impaired so I cannot drive and happened to lose my state ID which is why I...brought my passport. After being sat, my boyfriend was carded first and then I was carded and she skimmed my passport for 30 seconds to tell me that my passport was expired. Then she tells the owner that and then proceeds to tell us that the owner wanted our waitress to check my boyfriend’s drivers’ license again. By that point we are both mortified and made the decision to exit the restaurant. While I am in the car on the way to find somewhere to eat dinner and I double check and MY PASSPORT EXPIRES IN 2027. On top of that, my boyfriend and I are both 25 and 26 years old well over the drinking age. Not only do I want to address that this is harassment, but they have lost several customers because I will never go back or speak highly of this restaurant to anyone again. I celebrated my 26th birthday there and several dinners since then and have never had an issue up to this point. My biggest piece of advice to the owner 1) train your wait staff on how to properly check all forms of identification 2) be courteous enough to address situations directly with your customers.More

Have heard good things about Davani's and last evening had the chance to see first-hand. Nice place, good service, but my meal was truly substandard. Do not order veal parmigiana. Meat was burnt and dish served between cool and warm. There was plenty of food,...but I cook not eat it. Had I been there on my own, would have sent back - with a crowd of folks feel this is not right - their meals were fine. Desert was the biggest disappointment. Tiramisu was like a chocolate birthday cake. Told server it was not good, so. Seems others in my group were happy with their meal - I was not.More

Service was good. Waited awhile for our food. Caesar salad was very good, but the cannelloni was a huge disappointment. Was not as described. No meat in the shell, zero béchamel sauce, and totally drowned in a marinara sauce. Crème brûlée was good. Will try...something else next time.More

Davani's is exceptional and I must add that my point of reference for Italian food is New York City, where I lived for 40 years. Menu tends towards tradtional dishes, and they are expertly prepared. After several meals I feel like I can order anything...on the menu with confidence. Penne Vodka is a favorite, it's a great option if you like a little heat. Oh, and the bread pudding is perhaps the best I've ever had.More

Our second time eating here and literally everything we had was outstanding. The kind of dishes that you pause after the first bite and just STARE across the table at your parter with wide eyes that say “how could this bite possibly taste any better?!?!”....Had stuffed ravioli for an appetizer, smoked salmon Alfredo pasta, and shrimp and scallops pasta. Also the bread was the best bread I’ve ever eaten. Mr. and Mrs. Davani are the most kind and personable people and our waitress, Jennifer, was so warm, inviting, knowledgeable, and funny. What a good date night. 11/10 for sure!More

We’ve been going to this fine Italian restaurant as our special go to place for quite a while. Unfortunately, the past few visits the food preparation keeps sinking to new lows. Last night my wife’s pork medallions were literally raw and my chicken parmigiana was...burnt. They did wash off the sauce and fixed my wife’s dish but mine I never took one bite. Our server did take this off our bill, but you would have thought the owner Rocky would have stopped by to apologize as the restaurant was fairly empty. The rest of our apps were marginal at best. Maybe a new Chef. But we won’t be back anytime soon.More

Davani’s is tucked away in the McDaniel Village Shopping Center and I’m going to use that as an excuse as to how I’ve over looked this place! With so many new and great restaurants popping up in Greenville it’s easy to over look the ones...that have stood the test of time. Wife and I had reservations for dinner at 7 on a Saturday evening, we were greeted and seated promptly, the place had quite a buzz going on which let me know right away that this place must be great! Ambiance of the place is perfect, I thought it was a larger place but it has maybe 18 tables divided up into 3 sections with a very nice bar area, very nicely done, lighting and mood are just right for a romantic dinner. Wife had the Veal Marsala and I had the Chicken Parmigiana, both were outstanding! I don’t remember our servers name but she was top notch. A gentleman came by our table and asked us if everything was ok, we said it was great and this was our first time here, and he laughed and said why has it taken you so long? LOL, I asked him his name and he said it’s on the sign out front! Anytime the owner comes around and is fully invested like that with his customers I’m all in, when we left he actually followed us outside and we had a great conversation about his restaurant and he told us about the quality and time they spend on making Davani’s what it is. How many owners would do that? The man knows what it takes to cultivate and build the clientele that he has, we will definitely be back.More

We were visiting Greenville for a short time and Davini's was top of our list since we had dined there a few years ago. The wine ordered was not available but the recommended option by Rocky was excellent. We had a delicious appetizer of mushrooms...stuffed with veal, pine nuts, and a tasty sauce. After salad, I enjoyed veal oscar which was served with not only asparagus but included broccoli and red peppers over risotto. My husband had the penne ala vodka which included pieces of Italian sausage and cherry peppers which were just right for spiciness. All this along with excellent service. It's a very short trip from downtown, well worth it.More
