Words cannot fully express how incredibly fantastic this dining experience was for my night out with friends! Walking up to the cruise ship-like exterior of this massive restaurant located just beyond the iconic HHI lighthouse, we felt the excitement build. Upon entering the newly rebuilt Quarterdeck, we were in awe of the intricate, modern sophisticated take on nautical decor. Everywhere we looked was a high-end fixture or feature, and from every window a breathtaking view! We were greeting with many pleasantries by name and escorted to the open air deck table just in time to settle in and sip on the most delicious cocktails before sunset. The “Heat Lightning” and the “Lowcountry Love” were two of my favorites! Our server Fernando treated us like royalty! In fact, every single crew member we encountered did as well! They have a strong team growing there already! As for dining, we had a large group and tried just about it all!!! Every item had a it’s own flavor and twist, yet each recipe complimented the other quite well. We loved the street corn, rib appetizer, she crab soup, hush puppies, crab dip, firecracker shrimp….I better stop before I list all of the starters!! For my entree, I had the Grouper Oscar. Not a single bite left! The fish was seared perfectly and the sauce and sides, so delectable!! For dessert we tried the brownie sundae, key lime cheesecake and the chocolate cake. I will tell you my favorite, when I stop day dreaming about them!!!! After dinner we toured the “upper deck.” WHAT. A. VIEW! I’m counting down the days until I can post up at the upstairs oyster bar, followed by a summer evening with a glass (or bottle!) from their extensive, and finely curated wine list! This is our “new spot” on HHI….and if you love a fabulous culinary and social adventure, it will be yours, too!

This restaurant moved to its newly built restaurant and new location in Harbour Town in April 2022. The location is stunning sitting under the iconic lighthouse with great views of the harbour and Callebogie sound.
The design and interior is stunning with a large bar area on both the ground and first floor.
This is a really popular restaurant and recommend calling ahead and getting a booking.
We sat at the bar and had good service in a fun lively environment. The food was reasonable without being stunning.
The only slight frustration was the guys at the bar started clearing everything away at 9.00pm and my wife’s plate was ignored when finished and there seemed no interest in offering options for desert. It was litererally like it’s 9.00pm and we’re done but the restaurant was really busy and it was a Friday night. Really think the management need to sort this out because the restaurant offers so much and the service we received up to bar clearing was really good.
All that said would still recommend trying Quarterdesk out if your in HHI.

We were excited to return after the renovation, but words are not enough to express our gratitude to the visionaries, the chefs, the designers and especially to our server SANDRA!
We ate upstairs on the deck with 270 degree views of our lowcountry paradise. Sandra recommended great food and cocktails but her genuine care for our experience was the most appreciated.
Highlights:
Definitely splurge for the Lobstah Cocktail - its presentation is only eclipsed by the taste. The Oysters and Mignonette were splendid too!
Wait times can get long for walk-ins, but we made our reservation on Opentable 30 minutes prior to arriving with no issue! Make a reservation and request outdoor seating on the 2nd level.

We’d been to Quarterdeck in the past and loved it, but we were very disappointed this time. Wait staff was inattentive and clueless as to the various offerings. My husband had fried flounder, which he liked, but the waffle fries were cold and not cooked. Other friends had varieties of fish and the waiter didn’t even know which was which when he delivered them and friends asked if they were blackened since that’s what they ordered but not what they got. More important, he didn’t care. I don’t eat seafood, so I had $24 chicken tenders that should’ve been called chicken rubbers and raw fries.

We were anxious to try this new addition to Hilton Head. The menu ranged from appetizers to main course meals. The fish we ordered was not available so I ordered the Grouper which was skimpy, a bit dry but enhanced by the lemom beurre blanc, the sides were good for $39, My husband order the Fried Captains Platter$30. which was light on fish and heavy on the fries and 1 hush puppy.
Wine list was good and wine by the glass reasonable. I would stick to drinks, salads and appetizers, enjoy the view and have dinner elsewhere. Service was excellent sorry I can’t say the same about the menu and the food.

I ordered this menu item directly from their menu.
“All-Day Sandwiches
served on toasted kaiser roll with waffle french fries or ember-roasted local vegetables and a pickle; substitute a small salad $3
BIG FISH SANDWICH 18.95
choice of fried, seared or blackened local fish fillet, tartar sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion”
When We got the bill we questioned the added surcharge of $3 for the sandwich. The manager showed up and very rudely said that is what it was!!! We never asked to see him. We tried to explain what the menu indicated and he would not even listen to us. He had such a horrendous attitude that everyone at the table had their mouths hanging open after his rude remarks that it was a correct additional charge period. Guess what… I ordered the ember-roasted local vegetables only as indicated on the menu of either or. Our table was filled with highly rated executives of multiple companies. We were all appalled and an apology will never be sufficient… please be aware of the rudeness and highly inappropriate response from a so called MANAGER. We paid the additional charge which was not a problem.. he was the problem. If you pick this restaurant among the myriad of options on Hilton Head be aware!! . By the way I never got a pickle and we went a 5pm so it t was not busy. Rudeness is never acceptable anytime!!!

The food was just adequate. The service was slow. The biggest issue was with the seating. I went with three friends. We had made the reservation three weeks earlier. Our first table was in the sun with the sun shining directly in my friends face. When moving to our second table, we were told by people at a different table that they too had moved from that table. Our second table was directly behind the band. We could not hear each other speak. In addition there were tons of bugs. My friend complained to the host and was told that there were no other options. Very disappointing.
Also, I changed my side dish from fries to a salad and was not told that there was a $3.00 up-charge. I would have stayed with the fries had I known.
I will not be back.

The food was ok, not great. Had a few apps and a variety of dishes. All agreed the food was good, but there are certainly better options on the island. At present (June 22), you won’t stumble in for dinner - you need to plan it. We had a reservation a month in advance.
They wanted to seat us inside, which was a mistake on our part. Later in the year when it’s super hot, maybe a good idea. Most of the seating appears outside. Was VERY disappointed with the crappy small table we were presented with in the bar and should have spoke up. Seriously, you put four people at your smallest table in the bar? Was particularly aggravated when I saw three people seated a little bit later at another table that was literally twice the size of our table. Yeah, I should have said something, but come on, a little bit of training goes a long way. You’re gonna seat a party of four with two big guys at a tiny little table? We had reservations for over a month. Disappointing experience for such a premium price.
The second floor is for “large parties or tables for two” the hostess told me on the way out. So, bring some friends. Or be very deliberate about where you’re seated.
My meal was blackened chicken with pasta and the chicken was pretty dry. The pasta part was great. Had short ribs app (good) and a blackened shrimp app (also good) that we all shared. Others in our party the East Coast Shrimp & Grits, Salmon, salads, and, I think, the Grouper. There are a lot of places on the island with better food, less expensive, and less of a chore to get in for a reservation.
We’ll probably give them another shot after the summer season and see what’s what after they’ve been up and running for a while in the new building. The new building is pretty awesome, especially if you’d been to the old building. We watched this one get built and it was pretty cool.

Dinner for 4 outside/upstairs at sunset - the view was fantastic. The service was uneven - truly nice helpful servers, who tend to disappear, then reappear, food comes unevenly. On balance, pretty good. The food itself is decent. Nothing great, nothing truly bad. Is going to the view enough? ($9 to get into Sea Pines, $10 to valet park before you even get to the restaurant, the prices are in the high range for the island.). Maybe once, it was truly beautiful - can't think why we'd go a second time.

I made a reservation for 6:15 pm and the system asked if I had any requests, I wrote that this was an anniversary dinner and would like a sunset view. What we got was a table in the bar area with a view of chairs at the bar. If you have a requests area in your system then at least try to accommodate the request. We had the worst table in the Resturant. No view and lots of traffic around our table. My wife ordered Grouper and then was told it was not available. 25 minutes later the table behind us that sat down 10 minutes after we were seated were served Grouper. Not nice. Why did they get Grouper and not my wife? I ordered a glass of $11 wine and only 1/4 of the glass had wine. Very small pours. Less than 3 ounces. Not good. She crab soup was good. Ordered $39 filet and it had some fat in it that made it uneatable. We have been vacationing at HHI for 20 years and the Quarterdeck was recently remodeled so we decided to see if the changes were good. Nice ambiance but horrible seating and food not spectacular. Only thing spectacular at Quarterdeck is the views if they follow requests and give you a table to view sunset. Not a memorable Anniversary dinner.

We couldn’t get a reservation at this very popular restaurant so on the advice of our concierge we arrived at 4:30 pm and put our name on the wait list while we strolled and shopped the harbor. While waiting we witnessed some people come who thought they had a reservation only to be told they were on a wait list. So verify your reservation status. We were seated by the windows in time to see the sunset about 6pm. Open floor plan with high ceilings can be very noisy - making it difficult to speak to our server! Convivial is the word that comes to mind. Lots of regulars are here. Extensive menu. We chose the apple glazed pork chop after we saw it served to a nearby table! The food was very good. Bar and wine standard but acceptable. Some “ local” wines offered- we sampled but were not to our taste. The view is what brings people here.
Be aware that this restaurant is in Harbor Town- where you have to pay to enter this area. Parking is free but limited. Lots of little bugs in the evening. Insect repellent wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Arrived about 10 minutes early for a 6:15 reservation. Hostess was not at all friendly and could not figure out her seating chart for a restaurant not even 40% full. Waiter spoke so softly we could not even hear him. Waiter was not familiar with the menu and inaccurately answered our questions regarding menu items. Appetizers arrived quickly, and almost immediately our next course arrived - we had to ask them to please not rush the next course so we could catch up. Food was good, but certainly nothing special. Given the number of excellent restaurants in HHI that are comparable in price and selection, I see no reason to return here. Atmosphere of restaurant was very disappointing and was not as described on website.

We made a reservation for outside seating. I was emailed at 9 am for 3:30 pm lunch reservation to confirm that outside seating for 6 at 3:30. Upon arrival we were seated up stairs in the bar area with decent views. We had our menus and ready to order when asked to move to a different room. Six of us had to move with no explanation. Then start all over with menus ,water, and a new server. This was very odd.
Ou server was friendly, but not very helpful when asking questions regarding the menu. We ordered drinks and appetizers, all very good. The food came out quickly and hot. However, the sever never served us directly and we had us pass the drinks around the table! Was she too tired to walk a few steps? Again, the meals were served in a timely fashion with the food portions adequate and tasty.
The server never asked if we needed drink refills or if we were happy with our food. After eating we sat for a least a half hour hoping she would clear the table and we could have coffee and desert. That never happened!! Finally, we asked for the check and left a bit disappointed.

Our family (6) experience at the Quarterdeck was beyond bad. We had a reservation at 6:15pm on a Tuesday and upon arriving and checking in at the Front Desk, we were told it would be a few minutes before being seated. That’s reasonable, but while we waited, upwards of 30 minutes before being seated, parties without a reservation were seated ahead of us. When we were finally seated, they seated us in a booth in the bar that was set for 4 people. While we fit, it was pretty tight. We were told there were no other tables. The waiter greeted us, and served ice water to 4 of us. When he returned, he filled the other 2 glasses with unchilled water. When the appetizers we ordered were brought to the table, we did not have napkins and silverware. We had to wait a few minutes for the tablewear to be delivered. The appetizers were a highlight of the dinner. The most notable dinner entree was a burger. I ordered a fried oyster basket which was disappointing. There were 2 grouper sandwiches. The blackened sandwich was exceptional while the fried sandwich was not thoroughly cooked. Lastly, the Amberjack fish dinner was over cooked so it was disappointing. Afterwards, we all agreed that we would only return in the future to have drinks and appetizers in the bar.

We sadly received the worst service ever. It was such a beautiful location and atmosphere and we expected superb service. We never received our dinner after an hour of waiting. We finally told management we never got our dinner and they offered to pay for our appetizer and drinks but ended up sending a bill for our drinks and appetizers. The waiter didn’t have a clue we never got our dinner because he never checked on us. Such a shame. Needless to say we will never go back.
