Really good dogs. My hubby and I got the 2-dog special with chili. He is from north and used to coneys-these were a very close competitor. Excellent taste. The restaurant was in need of a good clean.

I definite luncheon stop when out and about in Columbia or the surround area. They have several locations. Get their famous slaw dog with all the trimmings. And the ice-cream...cool and sweet!

This is a wonderful little restaurant. We went specifically to try the hot dogs but they have much more. The chili was delicious. It had a slight bit of spice. I think the chili makes the dog. The slaw was on point good. The two guys working were friendly and helpful. They had the best personalities. They let me sample... More

We had heard from many locals that if you like creamy hard ice cream, you need look no further than Sandy's that also had numerous hot dogs with a variety of toppings, as well as burgers. Outlets around Columbia as well as Lexington, SC nearby. At least 32 flavors of the best ice cream we have found in the metro... More

I walked Lake Murray dam and went for supper there followed by ice cream. I got a hot dog and drink, but the tea was out and they did not have any more. The Pepsi was out and they acted like they didnt care. I opted then not to get ice cream. No sense spending my money where the staff... More

My favorite is the slaw dog, with chili and mustard, hold the onions, please. We also love their ice cream. It is way too much ice cream to eat for dessert, after eating a hot dog, though. Our son prefers the turkey sandwich.

Food is ok. Staff is ok. Nothing extra special. Located in a strip mall so unless you are there for another purpose and also craving a hot dog, don't waste your time finding a parking spot. We used to fight the traffic when craving a hot dog but not now that there are 3 hot dog specialty places here. Not... More

Located a block or two behind the capitol building and adjacent to the USC campus, Sandy's is a must whenever I visit Columbia. Admittedly, I've never eaten anything else here except their ice cream, but that's reason enough to go; they offer about 20 different unique flavors, such as Bear Claw and Banana Pudding, with single scoops the size of... Sandy's is the 2015 winner of best Dogs in Columbia and I can see why. The Black Angus Dogs are tasty, not too much spice but enough to give them a great flavor. I stopped in after reading an article on Hot Dog places in the State newspaper. I did not order their signature Dog instead going for their version... More
