Good Stop on Trip

We stopped in Orangeburg, not for the sights, but to break up drive to Florida. Our hotel was walking distance to this Ruby Tuesday. We sat at the bar and had two delightful servers/bartenders. Food (ribs for husband and salmon for me) was very good and reasonably priced. The only reason for four stars was that the kitchen got backed up, so we waited a bit. Sides (dirty rice, grilled zucchini and tater tots) were also very good. The apple crumble skillet dessert topped with ice cream was a perfect ending. Two people, one drink each, one salad, two entrees and one dessert for $62!

Travel stop for dinner

Have eaten here for several years on our way through while traveling. When seated our table was dirty, our server was very attentive and cleaned it immediately. My burger was very good...my wife's chicken strips were cooked to long and dry. May come back again, likely to go to Fatz next time.

Good food, slow service

After traveling all day and missing lunch, we were looking for a good meal for supper. The food at this locations was good. We had the smokey mountain grilled chicken with 2 sides. We also had dessert. Our waitress Jillian was great! She was friendly and had a great personality. Our main complaint was the extremely slow service. The main meal was somewhat slow to arrive, but the food was hot. After ordering dessert we waited an additional 30+ minutes for it to arrive. When Jillian brought it she apologized for the slow service and stated she actually prepared the desserts herself. One other low point was when requesting a blind to be closed to block the sun (which was setting and extremely bright) we were told it couldn't be done. But then the manager managed to get them closed. So we would give them 4 stars for the food, 2 for the service...average of 3 stars.

Not up to par

Our server was very friendly; however, it took forever to get served our orders (drinks and meal). I realize this isn’t the type of restaurant to expect a good steak. Ruby Tuesday didn’t disappoint. The steak was tough, thin and over cooked. Our friend had a great hamburger, tho. Salad bar was messy and lacking.

Great waiter

Last night my husband and I went to Ruby Tuesday and had Keith as our waiter. He smiled the who time and was very fast and efficient. He even remembered to bring lemons for the iced tea every time he refilled our drinks. This doesn't happen much at other restaurant s that we have been to. Thanks Keith!!

Tonight's dinner

We were told to wait about 20 minutes before we could be seated that was correct. Got to table server was right there got our drink and food order right away did not bring napkins or silverware got our cheese sticks very quickly but no napkins yet after long wait about 45 minutes our dinner came they should have been ashamed to send out the burn chicken strips. They were fried so hard it was a crust no chicken my hamburger was a crust it was fried so hard we did ask for manager he gave credit for chicken I did not say anything about burger but I did not eat half of it will not go back there Manager was ok but not very friendly. He needs a better attitude

Horrible service...oh wait...no service. We left...hungry.

We were traveling through and stopped for lunch. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait. We eventually were seated at a table, given menus by the hostess and told our waiter/waitress was coming. Several minutes later the hostess asked if our waitress ever came to which we replied “no.” So we waited...and no waitress ever came. The fact that we sat there so long without ever being acknowledged by a server was a pretty good sign that even IF our order was ever TAKEN it would have been quite a loooong wait! We were starving and didn’t have the time to waste so we left.

Great bar

We stopped in the bar for some tease after hiking and a couple of drinks on Super Bowl Sunday before the game. We didn’t have any food, but let me tell you they pour a stiff drink! The bartender was very charming and did not shun us because we were not eating, as sometimes happens. Several people at the bar were eating and all of the food look good and the staff were really hustling.

While traveling we stopped for overnight and chose Ruby Tuesday Restaurant for early dinner. From the time we arrived 'til we left it was obvious that there was grossly untrained staff. We ordered. Our waitress delivered our dinners to the wrong table. (There was only one other couple seated in our section). We had ordered our hamburgers to be cooked medium-well. We cut our hamburgers in half and noted they were birth cooked very rare. Not wanting to return our dinners (have heard stories about what happens), we used lots of catsup, salt and pepper and ate most of it. When we brought it to the attention of our waitress and her supervisor, I suggested that the cook needed training. The supervisors response was, with a chuckle; "Yeah, well you should see him." The salad bar was good and well tended. Suggest training for all staff.

Busy Night, ask for Cynthia. Great Server!

As we are seeing more people traveling through the area, we're also seeing more people staying at the surrounding hotels. Many of these people walk over to this Ruby Tuesday for dinner as it's the only formal / sitting type of restaurant in the area. We could tell they were having a staff problem as they were busy and the staff scurrying around trying to keep up. We were greeted and sat directly. Once down, our server came by and took our drink orders. Again, brought back directly. This is when the manager came out and apologized to our table and others about understaffing. Apparently, a key member walked out of the kitchen and didn't come back. They were all pitching in to take up the slack. Our server, Cynthia, was professional and expeditious during all this and we had to tell her that she was doing a wonderful job. She should be in management. Our food? I ordered a half rack and my wife ordered Quesadilla's. We enjoyed them both. We also thought the place was clean and prices fair. I've read the earlier reviews and can understand everyone's frustration. I can only tell you we were fine with everything. Maybe it's getting better. Enjoy.

Avoid this place

We were sat right away at a dirty table, our rude server took a while to come get our drink order, took even longer to come back with drinks & get our food order. Food was not very tasty & seems as if it were sitting under a warmer for quite some time. Seafood isn’t good when it’s cold. Baked potato was hard & not hot at all. Servers standing around cussing & talking negatively about other coworkers. Uncomfortable environment, bad service, & worse food. Will not be returning.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

Traveled 11 hours. Checked into our hotel. Placed an on-line order for pick up. Brought our order back to our hotel, sat down to eat and found only one place setting of utensils and a side dish was missing from one order. Called. Manager said since we didn’t want to drive back to the restaurant she’d contact her district manager who would email us some sort of compensation. Have heard nothing. Food not as good as we’ve experienced on our previous trips here.

Good job dealing with virus limitations

My wife and I were travelling in May while restaurants in most states were closed for inside eating, offering only carryout. Such was the case here in Orangeburg where we stayed overnight. I called in our order, It was ready just a couple of minutes after the promised time, good and hot, and served with plastic "to=go" utensils which worked well for us in a motel. They seemed to be handling the virus related limitations pretty well.

We went to supper late. There weren't many people - 7 or so - but it seemed we waited a long time. They seemed to be understaffed. We were seated in the bar area. The bartender had to take dinner orders in addition to making drinks. The staff was very friendly and courteous in spite of being rushed. The food was good. The floor was a little messby - but it was late in the evening.

The poorly managed chain restaurant strikes again.

This was the worst RT I have ever been to. I placed my online order @830p and my food was not ready until after 930p. I was offered a drink since I had to wait and was given a child’s cup. I got to the location 30 minutes after placing order. Upon waking in, no one addressed me concerning my order. The lady at the bar didn’t speak nor even say someone will be with you. I finally asked another woman and she said that there is a lady in the back who is addressing orders and will be out shortly. She did come out and told me the order was being prepared. That was about 9p. I was told that the 6oz steak was out and if I wanted an 8 ounce steak. Really, who would say “no” to a larger steak. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
