My wife and I had eaten there before and it was excellent. But sometimes service can be inconsistent. So we were pretty sure it was going to be a good experience. And we were not disappointed. I had the fried catfish, collards, Lima beans, mashed potatoes and gravy. It was delicious. The service was superb. It is advertised as a... More

The kitchen staff were fussing among themselves when we arrived. I have never returned food anywhere until this visit. I ordered baked chicken which I expected to be tender, juicy, and falling off the bone. I received a large serving of wing/breast, but it was undercooked, pink, and rubbery. The wait staff was GREAT, and readily brought me another selection... More

Drive further to find another restaurant. the restaurant was empty at 9pm, ordered the baked fish and vegetable. the menu indicated tilapia, not sure what type of fish it was, definetly not what was on the menu. Just ate the vegetables. The waitress joined me for dessert. Which was great because that was the only part of the restaurant I... More

They have many types of Southern food, to even include "liver pudding"! It is a daily posted "meat & 3" plus a menu. Fried chicken livers and fried catfish are very good.

Nothing fancy about Lizards Thicket. Meat and three is what they offer, and it is southern country cooking. If you don't like that, don't eat here. The tea is cold and sweet. Many items are fried. The vegies are seasoned with meat. Good eats. I don't recommend either one of the squash dishes. Other than that, you're good to go.

Located off interstate 26, Lizard's Thicket us a great stop for good southern cooking! We were looking for something specific to Columbia during a layover stay. With approximately 14 locations in Columbia, Lizard's Thicket seemed like a no brainer! This is a full service seat yourself establishment. Upon walking in we were greeted and quickly tended to. Throughout the meal... More
