We had true comfort food on a cold, windy, rainy day. The staff were welcoming and friendly - and went the final mile. We had a nice home-made turkey pie and local sausage and mash both with delicious red cabbage. With steamed syrup sponge and sticky toffee pudding for puds what else could one want. A nice Spanish red of... More

Very cosy pub with lovely atmosphere. It is a great place for lunch or quiet evening with friends or a couple. The menue offers a good choice and should suit everyone. We went for Sunday lunch and l would say it was probably the best l have had in a restaurant. Perfectly cooked beef and just out of the oven... More

Had dinner here on a Wednesday night, got a cosy table for 2 in the corner of the bar dining room. My wife had a prawn starter which she loved, I abstained in favour of a dessert. Our mains were pheasant (very tasty and so seasonal and local) and my wife had the leg of duck which was superb. The... More

This is an excellent pub and restaurant overall. The ambiance in the bar is superb. Have eaten in the restaurant previously but always felt a little out of the ''buzz''. The last two occasions we have stopped in the bar and eaten our food. We prefer the bar to the restaurant. We thought the menu was not as extensive as... More

Visited here with a group of ramblers for lunch. A nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. The menu is more that of a restaurant than a pub. My hake and chips were perfect, the fat chips served in a small 'bucket', tartare sauce in a small ramekin and a quenelle of mushy peas. Tap water comes as standard. Monday... More

Had an excellent evening meal here in March whilst staying for a few days in a NT cottage in Itteringham. Restaurant clean, smart. GF menu available. Great service and food. Looking forward to our next visit in December

Great warm atmosphere in a lovely old pub; food and service excellent from very pleasant young staff. I had a perfectly cooked partridge with straw chips; good wine list.

My fourth visit to this usually reliable boozer was a disappointment. Sunday roasts should be nice and HOT - even at 3.30pm towards the end of the lunch shift. Our food looked and tasted fine, but such a shame about the temperature of 3 of our 6 meals. Tepid gravy and barely-warm roast spuds ... no thanks! And re-heated spuds... More

As a party of 8 holidaying in the village, we like to try the local pub. We booked our table (£10 holiding deposit per head for parties over 8) a few days in advance. We visited on a Monday evening which was "curry night" £10 including a glass of wine or a pint. There was a large selection on the... More

This is a delightful pub, went here on our last night of holiday in Norfolk and it was excellent. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. The food was delicious. Wish we lived nearer and could visit more often.

The Walpole Arms, Itteringham, dating back to the 18th century is a traditional country pub, sitting within the heart of north Norfolk's picturesque countryside in the village of Itteringham. Itteringham stands on the River Bure, four miles north west from the market town of Aylsham and just two miles from the National Trust's magnificent Blickling Hall. We pride ourselves on offering an innovative and exciting menu, preparing dishes using the highest quality, locally produced, seasonal ingredients. Our traditional bar area is full of country pub charm, with a wood burner warming up cold winter nights, welcoming both diners and non-diners alike, whether it is a pint of one of our many real ales such as Woodfordes Wherry, Adnams Southwold, a glass of wine from the extensive wine list, or a meal from our a la carte menu.
