The restaurant was conveniently located in the historic downtown. Staff was friendly but I was disappointed with my meal. I ordered the ribs. They were tough and seemed undercooked. My baked potato was also undercooked and came without any butter or sour cream. I had...More

Stopped in for lunch with the family, we sat up stairs on the patio. It was ridiculously windy. We placed our order, nothing special, burgers, wings, kids Mac-n-cheese. It took over 45 mins of wrestling with everything on the table to keep it from blowing...More

We tried this restaurant based on other reviews on TripAdvisor. I had the ribs and my wife had the hamburger. Both came reasonably promptly and were good. The rib meal included a large side salad, baked potato, and outstanding order of mixed fresh vegetables. The...More

If the weather is nice sit on the roof patio which gives a nice view of the surrounding area. Very pleasant at dusk. Nice selection of draft beers (mostly from South Dakota breweries) to select from. Had two excellent burgers (one buffalo and one Angus...More

The subject pretty much says it. Wrong drinks were delivered to our table, and then to an adjacent table where that customer determined that the drinks delivered were not the right ones. Meanwhile we waited 15 minutes for two beers. Then another 40 minutes for...More

Best brisket sandwich ever. Enjoyed the deck patio, and a great lunch. The food exceeded our expectations. Don’t pass this up.

Very nice bar/restaurant. Sandwiches were delish and good sized. Tons of fries too. We had the dessert of the week and it was yummy as well. Very old bar with a lot of history. Server was friendly.

This bar is good. The food and service was excellent. It had a good menu and the prices were good. Great atmosphere, but it tends to attract bikers.

Description
This Historical Bar & Grill is located downtown Main Street in the small mountain community of Hill City South Dakota. The building, built in 1903 resides as one of Hill City’s oldest standing buildings on Main Street. Hill City in the early mining days was once know as a town with a church on each end and a mile of hell in between. Some visitors claim to say to this day they can hear and see the ghosts of the miners and cowboys past. Inside is a Brunswick-Blake-Collender Back Bar built in 1897. With having beveled glass mirrors the bar reflected thirsty patrons bellied up to the bar, and boot propped on the brass rail. Back then Bar Stools were considered improper-real men took their liquor standing up. The Bar and Grill is well known for our Famous 1/2 lb fresh Angus Burgers, amazing Buffalo Burgers, Beef Chislic, Homemade soups and awesome specials. Come Bump with as the Bumpin Buffalo when you are in the Mount Rushmore area!
