Jen, Thank you for some kind words about your visit to the Mangy Moose. We had a couple rough years because of bad help and yes, bad management. I had taken a step back and put my trust in people that I should not have...More

Kate, the bartender, made our visit to the Mangy Moose fantastically memorable. We were hungry and tired after riding 48 miles on the Mickelson bike trail. The kitchen was closed, but she found us some chips and salsa to feed our depleted bodies. She was...More

It was a very neat place. Great atmosphere. Quick service. Nice waitress. Food was good and prices affordable. The bathroom was clean. There was a little place to shop inside for cute tshirts and other local goods.

After reading the reviews we were a little skeptical. We did not sit outside because we are not smokers. Our waitress (Kate) got our drinks within a minute, and took our food order. We both got the steak sandwich. It wasn't a great ribeye, but...More

Ate lunch here. Really good pulled pork burrito and excellent salsa. We ate outside. Came back for a drink that evening and went inside. It's basically the local dive bar as far as décor. But it was okay.

Service was slow. Took a long time to get our drinks. Food came at same time. I would have order another glass of wine, but the waitress disappeared. Also, I was afraid I would have to wait awhile for it. We were sitting outside, where...More

We didn't stay long enough to eat or drink. First person encountered in the place was quite honestly one of the rudest waitresses I've ever had. Didn't want to get drinks or a menu for us. The place wasn't that busy but apparently she wasn't...More

I would not recommend this place. Only one waitress to seat you, serve, you and assist you. I was very disappointed in this place. She was the only one so the service was more than slow, flies were just about anywhere you looked, and you...More

Mangy Moose has been owned and operated by a single woman for over 20 years. We spent those years becoming the best bar in the southern hills, and offered your typical bar menu of burgers and appetizers. We have grown to a place that sells burgers, Mexican food and a great ribeye steak on the outdoor grill. Our cooking facilities are minimal and it is sometimes difficult to keep up with the high volume of hungry customers. Our food is good and most things are made fresh from scratch, but we have the most square footage on the block and a lot of steps to get food and drinks for the hundreds and hundreds of people that stop by each day. We love to have you visit the Mangy Moose and have a good time, but if you are in a hurry... you may sometimes be disappointed in the wait. There is usually live entertainment on the outside stage to enjoy, with a full liquor bar. Please keep in mind that we are doing the best we can with the facilities and staff that we have. We are a BAR with a limited menu, that happens to sell food, and not a RESTAURANT that sells alcohol. Everything on our menu is good and we have specialty foods that you can't get at any ordinary restaurant. If you are in a hurry and looking for a large menu, we are probably not what you are looking for. But if you are looking for a great place to sit on the outdoor patio and people watch, or a great place to enjoy a cocktail, a beer, or a glass of wine and have a bite to eat... you won't be disappointed.
