Lalibella is a unique and flavorful Ethiopian restaurant. You won't find one that matches this quality of food in Sioux Falls, or even in the nearby metros of Omaha or Minneapolis. We've always had friendly service here, and it's priced very reasonably. Our recommendation would be to split the combination platter, you get to try the best of everything for... More

We heard about a good Ethiopian restaurant in Sioux Falls and stopped in on the way through. We had the vegetarian injera with four toppings and it was excellent. We've eaten at quite a few Ethiopian restaurants across the country and this was a nice treat. The owner is very friendly and this place is clearly a favorite with the... More

We chose this restaurant based on friend's recommendations, as we enjoy opening up our children's palates to cultural cuisine. This family owned establishment was welcoming and relaxed. We ordered multiple dishes to share, our youngest loved the chicken samosas, and we enjoyed our meat/veggie dishes on ingera. We would recommend this location to anyone looking for great food in a... Our town lacks a real African restaurant so we are always on the lookout for one. I did not expect to find one in Sioux Falls, much less one this good. We loved the food which was as good as African spots we have eaten at in D.C. and Oakland. We had the combo plate and the beef tibs on... More

The food is wonderful. The owner friendly. The experience eating delicious meats using injera is very cool. A great cross cultural experience for anyone.

My wife and I are vegetarians and we often find it difficult to get a good meal out while traveling. That's why we were so happy to find Lalibela when we stayed in Sioux Falls. From the outside the place is unassuming, but as soon as you open the door you get that great aroma of Ethiopian food. We ordered... More

Coming from eastern Montana with its limited food opportunities we like to try food and experiences unavailable to us unless we're traveling. Wow what fun this was! We weren't expecting to eat with fingers and the soft flatbread but enjoyed every bite of the combination plate (we couldn't decide on one thing). Later other customers came and ordered some other... As it is lent, no meat on Friday, tried the vegetable stew excellent could become a vegetarian. My son had beef tips and said it was very good. This place is a hidden gem. Definitely will be back.

Mid-afternoon visit, primarily to try the espresso that was recommended to us. Wanted to try a little food, just had an appetizer of chicken sambusas. They were good. The espresso was good and strong. Waiter (owner, maybe) put the sugar on the table and hubby added to his cup. He did not care for it. I tried his and didn't... More

My boyfriend and I decided to come here after running around Sioux Falls all day. We're pretty adventurous when it comes to food and this place was something new we had yet to try. I had the combination platter because I couldn't decide what to get along with a couple veggie sambusas. EVERYTHING was delicous. The ticket time was short... More
