A Monday night concert at Tennessee Theater in downtown Knoxville & our favorite walking distance place (Club Le Conte) was closed. We spotted a forgotten favorite across the street, recalled a good experience years ago and they had two tables left.(a reservation would have been smart). Busy, happy place but a little loud for civilized conversation (that is, not shouting)...... More

I love the Bistro at the Bijou. I don't get to go here more than five or six times a year, but every time I go, I'm reminded why I totally love this place. 1. The salads are anything but ordinary. I love a good salad. And the lunch time salad is just my favorite salad in downtown Knoxville. There's... More

We have eaten here several times and it has always been delicious. I have had the shrimp and grits. My husband had the pork chops with pineapple salsa/black beans and rice. A very nice portion. I have also had the blackened chicken wrap with avocado. Delicious with a side of fresh fruit.

Starting with a mimosa and ending with freshly brewed coffee, it was a delightful Sunday brunch after church. The waitstaff was courteous and efficient without hovering. The frittata was perfect and practically filled the plate. The beginning was a hot, moist biscuit with lots of butter. My choice of a side was roasted beets. The bacon was smoked and yummy.... More

This place is downtown connected to the Bijou theatre on Gay Street, and I think a lot of people don't realize it's there or forget about it because it's a little further down from most of the other restaurants and a few blocks away from Market Square. Because of this, it's usually easier to get a table here for brunch... More

The atmosphere is great. They have memorabilia around. They are conveniently located. They have specials. Their hamburger plates and salads are great. There is very limited parking on the street. You will either pay to park nearby or go two blocks and walk or catch the free trolley. This is true of all downtown.

We ate hear before a concert at the Tennessee Theatre. The service was very good(thank you Amanda). It is a historic building. I had he special of the day which was blackened grouper over lentils. It was very good. My wife had a good cheeseburger. We topped it off with a shared piece of lemon cake that was very good.

Listen for the footsteps of early Tennessee frontiersmen including those of our seventh president, Andrew Jackson as the restaurant was originally an early tavern. It is next to the Bijou Theater that preservationists saved from destruction in the 1980s. A good place for dinner before a performance or lunch after a visit to the nearby Blount Mansion built in 1792.... More

Great for a business lunch. Food was good, service quick in a historical old Pub atmosphere! Parking across the street is a pay lot tho :-(
