I can't imagine how you can ruin chili but Petro's managed to find a way. I was famished so I stopped in the W.Town Mall food court and with all the restaurants to choose from unfortunately I chose this once. First, I got there at 11:05 am which is not what I call rush hour. I had to wave and... More

Got the frito Chili bowl, it was great. The whole family loved this place including my mother in law. We liked the orange tea as well. We will have to make it back one day when we go through Knoxville again.

Came for lunch on a Sunday. 6.79 before tax and kind of skimpy portions in my "Large". Family got mediums and theirs was on the small side also but they had started eating while I went to grab my phone from the car. Also they charged .25 for water--seems kind of gougy especially since they made almost $20.00 on chili... More

We love Petro's so much we try to make them at home. We always fall short even though it seems so simple! Get it with everything!

I read these other reviews and wonder where these people ate at. There is a difference between eating in a place versus take-out so my comments are on the take-out orders. Here's my grade D- Order was two chili dogs loaded. It was so bad I didn't finish the first dog and never ate the second dog. For that kind... More

This place is always a winner. I love stopping by Petro's every time I am back in Knoxville. They are such a local favorite that they even serve Petro's at the Tennessee games. My favorite part is always a big glass of the orange tea! Make sure to stop by this place for a really good meal.

No matter what I order, the food is consistently awesome. My fav is the queso petro which is equally matched by the classic version. I love that you can make it your own by adding or leaving things off. And I could not possibly do justice to a review of Petros without mentioning their AWESOME hint of orange tea. It... More

I had my first Petro in a cut-open Fritos bag at the 1982 World's Fair, and keep coming back when I can. It is fun food and tastes great- a good combination of tastes that is also filling. And have some of their unique ice tea!

This was started at the 1982 World's Fair. The food is good and I love the vegetarian chili option. Being local, this is something that isn't a cookie cutter national chain.

My mom is a Knoxville native, born and raised there, and her mom still lives there today. When my mom was a teenager and the World's Fair was held there in 1982, that's when some young men decided to have a concession stand for these so called "Petros." That's when they created the general product that they have today. Its... More
