We stumbled on this pub / restaurant a couple of weeks ago when in Ireland, it was one of the only pubs open, when we arrived the pub had a group of guys drinking, they were in good form, a group from Boston, nice guys. We ordered some food, I had the seafood chowder, ohhhh my word, this has to... More

Went for evening meal late in December. As it was still the holidays the bar was very busy but we got a corner table. The chowder was, as always, excellent and the seafood platter top class. Washed down with a couple of pints made for a very enjoyable couple of hours.

I recently visited O'Dowds for dinner with my partner on sequential nights during our stay in the area. The pub and restaurant are cosy and warm with a fire burning and lovely staff to welcome us. The food on both evenings was delicious. We opted for seafood trying the stuffed mussels, mussels steamed in coconut and lime, cod (catch of... More

Best crab claws in Roundstone! Could eat them every single day. Also recommended the tasty creamy chowder and the gratinated mussels.. all were very good and delicious. The apple and rubharb crumble, served warm with cream, helped finish off the lunch on a sweet note! 👌🏼

Very nice restaurant, well runned with a staff quite professional. Good and fresh food, good wine menu as well. The seafood platter was good but under the expectationt you can have for that price. The creme brulee was excellent. So just step into and enjoy

We took most of our dinners at O'Dowds. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. My favorite spot was next to the fireplace in the dining room to take off the chill. Irish stew, lamb shank, fish and chips were all amazing.

After walking from Clifden to Roundstone along the old bog road, 18km myself and friends were tired and foot sore so we went into O'Dowds Bar in Roundstone and were warmly welcomed by the staff and served lovely creamy pints of Guinness and Smithwicks. This is a great bar to visit.

Been going back to O'Dowds every time I am in Roudstone since I was a child. It is just an ordinary Galway pub in a lot of way but the atmosphere's good, if you're lucky you can nab the best table by the window overlooking the harbour and the the menu is local and consistent. It's a small place so... More
