The Gentian is a small and popular spot to meet for a lunch or a sandwich. They have a variety of teas and coffee choices along with a varied selection of pastry and cakes.

A lovely little cafe in the heart of kinvara. I treated myself to a coffee and pastry. Nice selection of treats on offer. Staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely return!

It is a suprise that in wintertime, just after the new year, you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the small village of Kinvarra. In summertime Kinvarra probably explodes like Grafton Street Dublin at Xmas, but during grey winterdaus you don't expect such a wonderful and relaxing place to start the day. Grand.

Nice atomsphere in this Cafe and as their Christmas decorations were still up there was a nice festive feel to it. Service was a little slow but they were very busy so understanable. We just had coffee, cake and mince pies which was all lovely and the staff while not full of chat were polite.

Had a lunch here, with my two daughters and other family members, very good service, food very nice and if good quality. The decor and ambience is really nice, would look and feel really cosy and intimate at night

Having mooched about Kinvara we settled on Gentia as the best option. The menu looked good, the environment was lovely, on booking the table the customer service was good! The location is brilliant - fabulous view day or night. During our meal the service was good, the lady was warm, friendly and appropriately chatty! The main meals: 2x lamb thai... More

Billy090, Billy, Billy. I've been holding on my reply - letting it sit and chilling. So, first of all thank you for taking the time to review, appreciate the effort, thus spake the 'appropriately chatty' owner who was looking after you that night. However, on reading your commentary, this is the frustrating part, I personally checked with your family to... More

To warm up from the rain we both had home made chicken soup and of course chocolate cake for dessert! A great little place by Dunguaire Castle with lots to choose from, also a full coffee bar,but the tea was wonderful as well!

I wanted to like this place. I wanted to love it!! It is such a gorgeous location and I love the decor. Let me start with a positive. The young girl and boy that were serving were lovely. They were so happy and nice, but they really were not too sure what they were doing. I ordered, to be advised... More

Hi Mary M, I am so sorry that your evening was a 'miss', I know how disappointing it is to 'want to like a place' and then it doesn't work for you. Perhaps if you PM me on our Facebook page we can make reparation in some way. For clarity, our seafood platter contains Burren SmokeHouse Organic' Hot Smoked' Salmon... More

Stopped for tea, but once inside and seeing menu came back same night and the next, to eat. Varied but not over extensive menu with specials changing daily. Good drink selection, puddings and cakes. Friendly service and good value.

Description
Our 'Gentian @ St Georges' is a brasserie with a twist: serving dishes to share with robust, sunny flavours, typically from a contemporary Irish, European palette with good old comfort food thrown in, The Gentian's ethos is one of quality, innovation, freshness and abundance with comfort and friendliness thrown in. Our coffee already has a reputation.....We will be looking after you all day, with substantial breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. The setting is informal with local stone and splashes of colour; Burren and south Galway, blended with funky london, has a relaxed cosy, curl up feel, with windows looking out over the Kinvara bay - colour and comfort, space for reading chatting, meeting up or getting way from it all.
