We only stopped for a drink after a long walk along the coast and a look at the nearby WW2 German fortifications, but it was a lovely inn with an excellent menu and in a beautiful location overlooking the sea. Best of all for us, it was on a bus route from St Helier and along the south coast via... More

Stopped off for a late lunch on the way back to the airport. Wow just take in the view. Then the roast beef was devine. Like a lot of the island, the Old Portelet Inn has been sympathetically renovated to give you modern facilities in an olde world shell. For me it's the perfect combination. Well worth a visit.

Normally we visit once during our holiday the location is stunning during the day and can sound equally as stunning at night. A great place to eat.

Arrived at almost closing time and managed to find something to eat - just in time. Had a starter of mussels which was of excellent proportion even though they were a little on the small size? My daughter had a fab chicken salad. Great pub for kids with a soft ball area to play (extra cost). Glad it was the... More

It has a very good menu, & at this time of year an excellent value tennerfest menu included lobster! The staff are very attentive & the restaurant has a nice ambience. The food... More

We have visited this pub several times over the years and have always loved their carvery. We booked a table for lunchtime today as we were visiting the island for a few days but were disappointed to find they only had standard roast on the normal menu, no longer a carvery. It was fairly average, certainly not as good as... More

We went on a drive to kill time before boarding the ferry and found this by accident. Stopped for a drink and decided to stay for a delicious Sunday roast. Dog friendly outside and the views are beautiful.

This was our second visit to the old portelet inn, having first visited in 2014. The location is great - on a sunny day there is nothing to beat enjoying a drink overlooking the ocean views. We enjoyed a very tasty dinner here - the house burger in particular is excellent! The menu is varied and overall is reasonably priced.... More
